An excellent design that has stood the test of time. The symmetry of the snowflake hands and the square hours markers is wonderful.

My first luxury watch was the Blue Pelagos, I sold it for a Blue Seamaster. I always missed it and recently purchased the new black FXD. I love having a Pelagos on my wrist again. I would buy the 42mm again in a heartbeat if they made one in grade 5 Titanium.

Oh I'm getting bracelet envy. And 39 for me even with 7.5" wrist. As the RU-vid most prolific Sinn poster would you take this over a Sinn u50 or an EZM 3/3f (left side crown)?

@@ClickSpringReview considering your (I mean Bob's) Sinn collections i thought you would have multiple U's. Anyhow thank you for the Tudor review; I was looking at one, black bay vs. Seiko SLA039/047 as they kind of have similar looks, but ended up with the U50S because you and Ryan's (priceless) Sinn scratch stunts.

I thought about the 39 a lot but as I already had a black bay 58, I went with the 42 blue and have absolutely no regrets and it is my favorite watch. the titanium makes it feel like the watch weight you want but you get so much more on the wrist, best of all worlds.

I’ve owned all of them and after a few years of sampling I ended up keeping the OG ETA version. At only 13.5mm it’s stacked in between the current version and the FXD for thickness so it’s very comfortable on the wrist and I prefer the cleaner dial.

Love your channel and reviews. Thank you! Being a Sinn fan, as well, I prefer the larger watches even with my average 7 1/4” wrist. I am fortunate to have a U1 DS Limited Edition 44mm. Even at that size, it’s perfect for me. I find that 39mm watches are too diminutive. The 42mm Titanium Pelagos is the perfect combination of size and weight . Be well!

The Pelagos line is great. I had the 39 for almost a year, and as great as it was, I kept leaning towards the LHD, so I traded. So much more character with the LHD. Yes its bigger and chunkier, but it really wears just as well as the 39 on my 7" wrist. Another plus is the common lug witdth size of 22 on the LHD and black Pelagos 42 vs the 21 of the Pelagos 39. Great review Barry.

I own the same Pelagos you have here. I preferred the 42 because of the matte bezel and the stepped outer edge of the dial. When I look at the dial of the 39 it feels like somethings missing. The only downside I would mention is that the Lume on the bezel patinas very quickly and becomes off white. This wont be a problem if you get the lhd version though. It’s a great watch you should pick one up.

I used to own the 1st, ETA based, version of the Pelagos, which I quite enjoyed but ended up reselling as I found it too thick. The current version is even thicker, so I wouldn't get it, nice as it is. I would much prefer the 39. Bhese days, I own a Tunor FXD Marine Nationale, which I find much easier to wear, owing to a slimmer profile, even with a single pass strap adding to its overall thickness. It's an outstanding watch, and a happy comporimise between the rsgular 42 and the 39, if one does not need a bracelet. Which is my case: I wear all of my sports watches either on rubber or nylon straps. Much more suited to the weather in Hong Kong, where I live.
