Do not buy Insta360 One R BEFORE checking out ALL the fogging issues! I brought one and got the fogging issue straight away, then found out many more users are getting the same issue. Personally I would stay right away, but the choice is yours! BTW the sealed bag and supplied silica sachets DID NOT WORK FOR ME! Camera has been returned! PS, what annoys me is, every youtube reviewer raves about the insta360 One R but NONE say about the fogging issue which is plaguing the product!

I bought both the One R and the Hero 8, at the same time. Compared extensively. I really tried to like the Hero 8. Mainly because it's cheaper. But the video quality was horrendous. Pixelation and mosaic artifacts are really bad. Especially in low light. Poor dynamic range as well. Totally useless for going in and out of shade. Other issues as well. That door. Ugh. Anyway, I'm returning the Hero 8, and keeping the One R. It's worth the money to me.

you should buy One R in China. just the same price as Hero8 and you can get twin types 😂overseas it is expensive

I don't know if your aware of this but the 360 mod with a stick is starting to transform inline skating videos. People can hold it and skate without seeing the stick. It's like having a bloody drone tracking you somewhat. It's mint.

I've bought one r 2 days ago. I own a hero 8 as well. I'm thinking why I did not buy a max. Looks easier to use comes with lens covers and gopro attachment module on the bottom. One r the skeleton cage, card cover and lens covers really pain in the arse and reflecting a lot. Not sure If I should turn it back and get a max instead.. Max doesnt have slow mo so that was my concern

The tiny input screen is a deal breaker for me! Unless they make a "mod" to correct this flaw!

I have seen a few reviews of the 360 R that have said that it is not worth the money, I have the 360 one X... Just want a truly unbiased review.... Is the Audio still shiiite and seriously would it work as a MOTOVLOGGER’s primary video tool.

Thanks, Nick. Great video. Just one tip: your two-finger peace sign at the end (with the back of the hand facing forward) is considered an insult in many cultures. Just thought perhaps you would want to be aware of that. Thanks again for the great video! It's really helpful.

Haven't had any freezing issues since the latest updates. Haven't used the GoPro Max yet so can't offer much of a comparison there for you

Few updates are worst than before . For some reason someone decided to make updates for multiview and now it’s unusable . Trimming same problem . Shooting a video in auto mode is horible , shooting video in manual mode it’s imposibile , you can’t set proper iso and shutter speed in 360 . This so called action camera is only usable for constant light standing in hdr mode .

I totally agree with you. The camera only shoots good video if its in standing in place in HDR mode. I have a long forum post here with dozens of tests showing that the camera is not stable: forums.insta360.com/section/14/post/2221

At $500 I can't justify buying one. Esp. not in a Great Depression. I mean, a $35 smart phone has a camera... so... how can you justify a $500 camera? For taking... pictures and video? Of your active sports action lifestyle that you do not have. Even harder to justify putting a $500 on a quad copter you're likely to smash into the ground, concrete, a dirty water puddle, lake, or a tree. Or lose on a mountainside or in the forest. I just couldn't see myself filming an entire movie using a camera the size of a big pack of gum.

I guess thats why the name of "action camera" not meant to film movies, it is meant to film your activities, swimming, skydiving, motorcycling and many more, I think that 500$ may be a lot,but I guess in time you ll see how good it is to own that kind of camera, and the money you spent to be more irrelevant when u bought it.

Not a Great Depression yet. The masses aren't jumping out of windows! If you think a $35 phone has a good camera, then that's why you aren't a likely buyer for this thing. Any of us who do this for a living or are deep into it as a passion realize the cost of gear is HIGH. Skeptic Motovlogs hits the nail on the head. I'm not sure where you live, but I'm in Arizona and I go outside every day I can. Nobody's telling me I can't leave my house. Staying in their homes is what some folks more cautious about C-19 have chosen to do...although I am hearing about some countries where this isn't easy or even possible to do. Sorry if that's your situation. In any case, this is a wonderful piece of kit and you must be interested, else you wouldn't have watched the video. Cheers!

know people going blind during Covid who need cataract surgery, and won't go because the websites won't list the price... and you know if they don't list the price, it's a scam rip off... and they'll bill you through the roof. Going blind... during a pandemic... in the USA... with plenty of places to fix it, which is less than two eye droppers full of replacing fluid in the eye... and they all want to charger like up to $5,000 for it... or more.

Don’t believe this. Don’t buy the Insta 360 r 1. This camera isn’t even close to being ready for the market. I was a sucker and purchased this. If you want to be their beta tester go ahead. Forget the headache of this device and just buy a GoPro. Plus, customer support at insta 360 is a joke.
