In this English lesson we look at the difference between STILL, YET and ALREADY.
Still, yet and already are adverbs of time.
Let’s look at the different meanings and uses of each adverb.
First we look at the different uses and meanings of STILL with example sentences. Then we look at the position of STILL in a sentence (STILL word order).
We look at the different uses and meanings of YET with example sentences. Then we look at the position of YET in a sentence (YET word order)
We look at the different uses and meanings of ALREADY with example sentences. Then we look at the position of ALREADY in a sentence (ALREADY word order).
In the next section we look at the American English vs. British English differences for STILL, YET and ALREADY. We show you which tenses to use.
Finally we compare three similar sentences to highlight the differences between these three adverbs of time.

@WoodwardEnglish
@WoodwardEnglish 3 года назад
There is no "best" source. Each student learns in a different way. You can start by visiting our websites: www.grammar.cl and www.woodwardenglish.com There are many grammar videos on RU-vid (which are free) and many great grammar books.

We can ask if something expected has happened with "still" like with "yet"? The test results still haven't arrived? Or Are You still not ready? I know that sounds a little weird, and can be more easy and convinient use "yet" but, is possible ir incorrect use still in questions?
