I remembering purchasing the LIVE CD's to this as an import because they weren't available here in the US when this was released. Sad the kids today do not know or care to know this important musical masterpiece. And the band- MAN!!! RIP Kenny Kirkland...
I first played my sister's double vinyl set. After she moved out I borrowed the records. Then I declared them my property! After that I ripped the LPs to Minidisc for convenience. After a few years I finally got hold of an original edition double CD set.
Bought the VHS, then the CD - at least 3 times, as spare just in case - and now I'm watching YT 35 years later, not bored and still amazed by the music, even though I can sing every note from it
Still have this on a battered and worn out VHS. Right next to Police Around The World, Police live in Essen (October 18, 1980, Rockpalast) and Urgh! A Music War. And the video collection that came out in 1986 (along with the singles CD that included the then brand new, re-recorded version of Don't Stand So Close To Me). I used to have even more tapes but the passing of time seems to have taken most of them, somehow...
What a great band! I was a jazz fan before I was a Sting fan. He was so smart to hire these musicians for this project. Branford, Kenny, Omar, Daryl, awesome!
I know this is late...I saw this show in Dijon, France...fall of 1985 as a college freshman...my date was the most gorgeous Danish girl in the world to me. Lihn... I had to leave the next morning back to the US and college in Maine...it was such a sweet sorrowful night. I'll Never forget it...
Omar Hakim, can leave that drop until the last millisecond, and just when you get caught out by the shock, that's the key to push the beat that propels you forward at pace. What soul, what craft. Joy
Thank you. This is the best of the BEST, superb, brilliance, and a masterful collective band ……every piece is SO awe inspiring……the way they connect the consciousness and emotions…….I listen often. My 19 year old daughter listens nearly every day.
This is how I really love to see Sting interesting different songs and very interesting musicians - all of them❤ this is more relevant to me than he’s touring life the last 15 years🤷
BEAUTIFUL EPIC PASSION.🎶😊❤🙌 Omg thank you for this. I bought the album and saw him live, but got caught up touring. Didn't know this existed. THANK YOU!
I remember seeing Branford Marsalis and his band - well it was Kenny Kirkland and probably all the other guys here too except Sting - playing some badass jazz in 1987 at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. It was so good!

Carrying on my personal legend, Play and enjoy like Don Quijote... Now, the moon is in a metal box That I've found somewhere before, I will paint the sky looking for the purest color... The sound of saxophone comes in, The smoky melody flows, Play and enjoy like Salvador Dalí, Where is my freedom? Where is my beauty? The sound of the night is gentle, The voice of stars is toxic, I will search for Aphrodite Carrying on my personal legend... Well, good night and sweet dream to you ∂ . ∂ # v
