Love Stewart and Sting, but I've always especially admired Andy Summers. There's a HUGE amount of space in a trio for a guitarist to use, and Andy - like Alex in Rush - always put exactly the right amount of subtly blended stuff in precisely the right spot to make the songs work. Clever guy. 🙂

It's no mystery as to why the Police became a worldwide phenomena, touring and playing in nearly every corner of the globe for the five or so years they were together; three talented musicians, each one bringing their unique gifts to each and every tune. They are a master class in how a trio works best ~ great songs, brilliantly arranged, with enough movement and space for the music to really breathe. The Police were a beautiful blend of rock, pop and reggae with jazz sensibilities tying it all together.

elard ramirez I understood, but in this interview he talked about the vibe of a power trio, regardless of style. Rory Gallagher did not play punk rock, so Coppeland felt the pressure of a power trio, left Curved Air and formed the Police, which had no punk in my ears ... so evidently he did not want to play punk rock or would have called other musicians .

We loved them forty years ago, but really didn’t appreciate how good they were.

Completely brilliant. 3 brilliant musicians in communication with each other. No other band can touch this.

Le "riff arpège", la voie éraillée de Sting, la jolie cuisine de batterie de Coppeland préparant la montée insistante de la basse à 1'29, avant le solo de guitare, super morceau !

So rare to have a right-kitted drummer with such a powerful left hand. That’s Stewart Copeland’s secret weapon. What a drummer!

This is one of my favourite songs of all time and I’m a big police fan. I was 12 when R D B came out and remember buying the vinyl and still have it now. Fantastic band Stuart Copland wow.

Always fascinated by a trio of musicians that sound like 4 or 5 on stage. Police, Rush, ZZ Top, etc. Something special about that.

Such a good band. Who wants to see the Police record a new album ? One of the very few bands that ended things at the height of their fame when there last album was great and they were still on top. I think it is time for the Police to record a new album. it's been a long enough break from them hating on each other. who wants to see them record a new album ?
