Welp, needless to say, had an absolutely INCREDIBLE time at this Sting concert. He was just en fuego, playing nearly 2 hours of Police and solo hits plus a few tunes off his most recent album, "The Bridge."
Considering Sting's about to turn 71 years young, he sounded amazing. His vocals were spot-on, powerful and as sustaining as ever. His band and backup singers were multi-generational and supremely talented, and Sting even made it a family affair by having his eldest son, Joe Sumner, open the show with his own repertoire plus chime in with some outstanding vocals during Dad's set.
Meanwhile, Bridgeport's new amphitheater is a great place to see a concert. Very spacious yet intimate feeling at the same time. And the Sumner men both commented on the uniqueness of the nearby trains going by. And oh btw, the weather was perfect.
This montage includes highlights from "Message in a Bottle", "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic", "So Lonely" and, of course, "Roxannnne!" - during which the former schoolteacher from Newcastle gave everyone a hilarious refresher course in, shall we say, "collegiate behavior." (Wait for it @ 7:05) 😂
Ee-yohhhh yeah! 🎤🐝🎵🥳
