@@pistenqueen The official video from 1985 is a masterpiece and a timely reminder with the symbolism of the clock on the wall with time running out for the world to save humanity. Hopefully they’ll re-release the original on ITunes and donate the proceeds for humanitarian relief in Ukraine which would generate millions for a good cause
Totally. I mean, when the song was written, they had a lot of problems with Russia, and I it has been good to see Sting’s response to the devastation ie his new release of the song. He has truly been an upstanding figure given everything going on. Though I must say, the video owner having a link to when the song begins totally defeats the purpose of the song. You have to have the backstory. Anyway, all this to say, I agree
I wish I knew who did them, because every song arrangement in this concert is absoultely fantastic. I especially like how intense the orchestra got in the repeat of the Prokofiev quotation at the end.
I really like this song and video too,for example,Im Kazakh,my neighbor is Russian,we are live in Republic of KAZAKHSTAN 🇰🇿,and we are really like our children... Best regards, Askar Makhamov, Republic of KAZAKHSTAN 🇰🇿, Almaty City...

"this should be played on russian radios to clear the mind of pres. putin. a timely song of what’s happening now in russia and ukraine." For you, killing Russians for eight years is good. Ок. Remember the Russian proverb. The Russians are harnessing slowly, but they are going fast. We hate Nazism. And we destroy it.
@@BokserPerm hm, the jewish President Zilensky is head of an Nazi government in Ukraine?... And now there are two Million Ukrainians (even Russian/Ukrainians) people who volunteer now, because they want to defend Nazis? No, my guy. They defend their children. Their children and their homes. Please try to look beyond Kremlin Propaganda. I don't hate you, but I'll die for my freedome, shall Putin send his soldiers. So many young dead russian soldiers and Putin wants to hide them. They lay on the fields or are being hidden in Belarus. That is the biggest crime against his own people... That is the last thing about this matter I want to say. Maybe it makes you think about the whole Situation... ✌🏻
@@leone.6190 "hm, the jewish President Zilensky is head of an Nazi government in Ukraine?" Yes. How were the Jews overseers in the Nazi camps. "Please try to look beyond Kremlin Propaganda. " Ukrainians are killing prisoners, as they did in that war. Where is the propaganda here?
this song is really magic!!! :') I'm Italian, so I don't understand the speech that there is in the beginning, someone could write and translate that text, please? :)
I love this song but I don't believe this song really captures the tone that the original song did that fits its context. This is far too upbeat for something that has such terrifying potential for the fate of humanity. The original track was terrifying and felt heavy and bleak. I really did enjoy the origin story to the song that was told. Fascinating.
Different only in ideology but not biology…that’s what Sting sings in his song. We all share the same planet and breathe the same air and we all bleed red blood, and we all want our children to have a better future.
It is unfortunate that Sting insists on performing this bloated and deafening version of the beautiful song he wrote years ago. I went back to the original official video and enjoyed every bit of it. On this recetn occasion it would have been wise perhaps to sing the sing in a simple manner without the philharmonic orchestra - perhaps some modest playback.
This version is more powerful than the original and he let us know what was the real inspiration for him to write the song. Do your research and open your mind!
you now a lot about cold war history...^^wtf East and West germany ,was the cold war !!! Du Esel! Aber was auch immer...guter song auch schon in den 80,er^^
