Scott and Andrew cruise the back country on the Odd Couple. Who says a hard core Adventure Scalpel and Haul Road Hammer can't be friends? The route we are on is called Stink Palm and carries a difficulty of 3/6.
OOOhh, newly adopted Mud Monkeys! Great stuff!! "Hose you down with antiseptic" 🤣 ... doesn't sound like Woodstock, but man, this gathering sounds like a whole lotta fun! Just don't get too close to the campfire when you are covered in hand sanitiser...
Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) more of the Triumph! it reminds me of my old Santa Cruz Super 8 mountain bike. Lots of suspension. Like a hammer for sure :)
Oh Clay, you are speaking my language! The mighty Super 8, now that is a bit of a time machine trip there! I too am looking forward to riding the Triumph in 2022. I am considering taking it to a rather nifty couple of fellows int he USA, seeing what they can do, then riding a BRD or two with it. It won't be as much of a precision machine that I am used to, and that is why it would be so fun! What do ya think? Good idea, or terrible? Either way, it makes for good videos. :) Cheers!
can-am started putting take-apart shocks in 1980. The guys in Kamloops would usually swap to Worx (Works Performance) shocks even when can-am put Öhlins on in 1982. It was the begining of EnduroX and revalving would be quite fiddly I think. Some guys liked the triple rate shocks.m
@@DirtChimps 790r that i was test riding was from KTM Adventure Rally in Bosnia, and allegedly was ridden there all the way from Austria, but i wouldn't trust a mousse on a highway either. But KTM guys are crazy, or have a support truck with them, or both. Yeah, i think it's both. :)
What's funny, is these are the two bikes I was trying to decide on, and ended up with the triumph. Yes, the suspension really needs to be dialed in. I'm probably replacing the rear springs, due to my glorious girth. ;^)
Talked to a Scrambler owner and apparently the clutch cover is easy to puncture on a fall. Gorilla tape and quick steel saved the ride. Might want to look at some cover protection on Winston if not done already.
Nice! Hey do you have any problem standing on the Scrambler with that exhaust? I heard that exhaust is pretty wide and some people reported that it's challenging to stand up because of the muffler size.
Hi guys, love your video content. Just good clean riding fun. "Just give'er!!". I just picked up a triumph Scrambler, what tires are you running and it what sizes? I'm looking for a good 50/50 set in the largest size possible. Thanks
Cool! The rear is a Bridgestone Battlax. I did not check the front. Sorry. I has to take a picture just to get that info. My brain is mush when it comes to tires. I know they don't last very long, at least not how we ride this INSANE moto! I hope you have piles of fun. Ours will be in the road again late next week with our suspension fixed, and new handlebars courtesy of suggestions from Steve Kamrad. Cheers!
Is that the standard triumph exhaust? Sounds sweet. Would be interested to hear how you think the triumph compares to the ktm. Suspension, riding position, weight, manoeuvrability, etc. Not that theyre competitors but simply to use the ktm as a baseline.
It will be a very fun bike to compare. It is WAY more capable than people think. Heck, you just saw Andrew lead the way and smash it through some decent stuff. Much more filming and comparing to be done, and a little Steg Peg action, and a little suspension work. :P Oh, not standard exhaust, and I forget the name. It is short, sweet, and loud!
Wow, very different bikes. What do you want to do? Neither is great at offroad. XE is terrible on highway. Norden has wind protection. Apple, or orange?
@@DirtChimps Ah I see, chin mount is definitely the best, your chin mount seems to get to quite a bit of your cockpit in frame though maybe you could adjust the angle so it is angled upward more. I can only speak for myself but I love content like yours and others just as much for the commentary as I do for the gorgeous views you get to ride through.
@@ig7988 Thanks for the compliment! Yes, the way we need to have our chin mounts set-up leaves some room for being too low, or too high. We are getting better, but every now and then we get really messed up like too high, too low, stuck in "linear", etc. I think this is a good day for camera angle.
