Reyes had so much potential up to this fight, and I think him being robbed like that straight killed his spirit and squashed his motivation...... sucks balls that us fight fans were robbed of so much
The judge that scored it 49-46 to Jones was actually going to score it 50-0 but was told he wasn't allowed so just did as much as he could to secure the W for his boy.
Well you have to score it that way for the fighter who won. Tbf jon only won 3 rounds with a 4th being really close, but clearly was reyes's round. So 3 to 2 for anyone who cant count.
@@trentongardner2106 The Weasle literally broke the fight down to each single punch and Jon lost it. According to the rules, he lost but that judge was probably a fanboy just like you.
I mean Jones won u can be in denial all you want those takedowns scored him the win Dominic is good but Jones squared him up and defended most of the strikes you can cry Reyes should've won but he didn't maybe he should taken more risk and not just spam jabs and kicks if you let them go another 5 mins jones wins you can see Reyes was gassed more. he put up the best fight I've ever seen as of now but jones does that every fight and can come harder in a rematch for a ko or ground submission
Jones was so unlikeable back then its crazy I was a fan as much as I was. You can see the pure determination and fearlessness in Reyes's eyes! Sucks he was robbed on this one, he did not show up to lose. RESPECT!
You should watch that fight again. 90% of the fight was dom swinging at nothing, from the outside, moving backwards, with sporadic rushes to move jones, then back to the outside on his back foot
@Senpaii Desuu How is it a point deduction? Getting out of the way after losing a strike exchange is a point deduction? You're only saying jon won that one round because Jon simply dominated it. What kind of logic is that? How do people want Dana to save him? Even Dana says Reyes won. But wtf does Dana know about fighting. Like Nate Diaz said, has Dana fought anyone in his life?
@Christian Warren Jon got out of harms way, mcgregor literally had his whole back turned looking the other way, jon had his back turned while looking back, either way, Jon got chased and didn't run for long so big difference there buddy.
No shit why does it say this he didn't even win he didn't humble shit Jon Jones exposed him as a regular fighter he not better then Jon and he didn't win and he never humbled shit
Unpopular opinion here, I honestly prefer no crowd. Imagine the intensity of this fight but being able to hear the impact of every hit. I'd love to see them run it back, but sadly I don't think that's ever gonna happen.
Why are ya all acting like Reyes easly won it. Watch the damn fight and the stats. It was a close fight, there's no clear winner. Jones won because Reyes missed like 60% of his strikes and Jones is a legend, it takes more to beat him. The fight could go either way but it makes more sense to give it to Jones.
ive noticed that as well. I think if DC would have been taller he would have beat jones. gustason is his height as well he seems to strugle more with taller guys

@@russellwestbrookyellingatw9381”the stats” show that he was outlanded the first 3 rounds. there was a clear winner. it doesn’t matter if dom missed a higher % of shots cause guess what he was still landing more. it was a robbery bro
I remember right before the decision was announced my friends & I were talking about how if it isn’t given to Reyes it’s robbery. None of us expected that to actually happen
@@progressivelibertarianview8832 Who the fuck gives a shit about a dude's reputational background? You're there to attempt murder on him until the ref stops you.
I have yet to see anyone make a single legitimate argument for Jon Jones winning any of the first 3 rounds. This was the biggest robbery since GSP vs Hendricks
@@jeffreyepsteinseggshapedpe143 joe soliz is insane he judged Krause v Giles and gave 1st round to Giles when Krause was literally on top of him, pretty sure Soliz is friends with Giles on facebook

@@russellwestbrookyellingatw9381 Bro John admitted in a recent podcast that Dominick won that. It happens to everyone your not invincible there is always someone better. Even Ali lost to Frazier
@@Sakaaruser22 Reyes is not better than Jones and he didn't win that fight, I hate Jones ever since he tested positive but he barely won that fight or it was a tie. It was just a miracle seeing Jones losing two rounds so people already gave the win to Reyes and called it a robbery.
@@medoo7825 but dude just said he controlled the whole fight. So he’s wrong plus most of Reyes flurries didn’t even land. Look at the video with .50 speed and Jones countered him too
You can tell by Jones reaction, he knew he lost that fight, when Dominick came to shake hands Jones gave him a look like "yo it is what it is, judge gave me the w
To this day I have no idea why Jon was trying to box Dom. It was almost like he was chasing really hard for a knockout. Once he started throwing front kicks, side kicks, lead leg kicks, mixing in take downs that’s when Jon took over. If Jon used that method that first two rounds I think he probably would’ve gotten a late submission.
Lol did you even watch the fight? Jon was throwing all kinds of kicks since the beginning of the fight. He only started taking over late because Reyes got tired of beating Jon up.
The longer the fight goes on, the fighter that digs deeper and doesn’t gas out (gets tired) before their opponent, wins. If it were till the death, Jones would of killed him
Plus octagon control, Jones is a vet in the sport, he knows what scores points and what wins rounds, big punches only count when they lay them out 🤷🏽♂️
Odins Spear that’s what I’m saying.i respect grappling but it’s a fight. If it didn’t help him control his opponent and deal significant damage then why should a takedown outweigh significant strikes and constant takedown defense?
@Odins Spear Still a part of the game. Its an effective technique that scores...it doesn't really have to result in submission or even affect the opponent. it shows ring generalship and demonstrates effective aggression. It counts for something. Reyes is a great fighter, Jones is a great fighter. The fight was incredibly close and the takedowns are more than likely what helped jones get the decision.
I finally rewatched the whole fight. Reyes fought well! But it was dominating affair and this whole thing has been greatly exaggerated. Him backing up severely the last two rounds while Jones looked completely composed and fresh lost him that fight. If he had stood and fought the last 30 seconds, fuck he still could have won it.
@@corycantu6239 Yeah but when you win 2 out of 5 round, even dominating which didn't happen you lose the fight. Jon jones lost this one and would have probably lost the rematch, why do you think he is in such a hurry to go to HW ? Reyes, Rakic & etc.
Something I just noticed is that John's forearms are so long that he can basically have his elbow at rest and still have his hand up to block his face...most people get tired and their arms drop...John can kinda rest and block at the same time
Fighters still haven't learned from Jon. He has long range on the fist, but shocks with elbows. You have all range if you use them. Long and short. The same with his legs. Every appendage offers two striking distances and... nobody uses them like they should. Every couch needs to start training this. You have two fists, but two elbows. Long range, short range. It's change the game.
Jones is an all around superior fighter to Francis being honest. Stipe ended Francis before and has shown it can be done. I know what happened in the rematch, but he can be beaten. Jones just has too many tools, he is the most well rounded fighter of all time in the UFC. 💯
@Lawson Greene The only way I see Jones losing is from a knockout. Jones can go the distance and with spinning kicks, elbows, great wrestling he is hard to predict in a live fight and catches a lot of people that way. I know a lot of people don't like him, but he is just a complete fighter.
Bro, even the crowd knew who won this fight. Listen how they shouted when Dominick was about to speak... Man, injustice has no place in sports where people work hard day and night to achieve their goals. I hope Israel Adesanya or Francis Ngannou or even Kamaru Usman does justice to Dominick, real talk!
He looked like Sugar Ray Leonard in the first fight with Roberto Duran... just keeping composure and pretending he is still the champ, but knows he lost.
Jones made more take down attempts, but they proved out unsuccessful. That is about all you can really give Jones credit for. Reyes CLEARLY should have won a unanimous but close fight!!! ... (Sky Low Low could have whipped either fighter when he was in his three year prime!)
bud the rounds were close but that was 3-2 arguably 4-1 jones. Reyes would start strong every round then fade as jon pushed him around the ring after the 1st round
@Vanilla Gorilla imagine thinking more blood coming out of your face means your losing. Some people bleed easier, some get hit in an area which makes it faster to bleed, but also skin tone plays an important role in seeing the bleeding, jon jones also had blood but barely visible cause of skin tone
Exactly this should be the answer... But I think Jon Jones said to judges that he would pay something, then Dana said yes pay them something from your salary, that's how our ufc works... Lol
I will forever be impressed with Dom's takedown defense in this fight. He was so fucking smart, he immediately got to the fence and man-handled Jones into a stand-up. I wanna know how strong you gotta be to bicep curl Jon Jones, because that's what he was doing. Even DC got slammed againt Jones.
Where??? Lmao Jones ate Reyes best shots and Reyes gassed out after the 3rd and Jones started picking him apart 😂 you must have only seen the first round
This is one of those fights that can always be pointed to as proof that there is a serious problem with mma judging. I’d love to think that these judges aren’t putting out prepaid decisions but these are the ones that make it hard to think they aren’t
@@williammorris3303 Definitely shouldve been 48-47 reyes. I also wouldnt be opposed to the idea of whoevers winning at the end but that would need a lot of clarification to become a fair ruling
Dom totally won that fight, granted we saw his highlights, he totally had Jon Jones read the entire fight. It was counterpunch after counterpunch when they traded. Especially when Jones went into the pocket he got his ass laid out. Totally unfair judges.
Yep one of the most pthetic fighters. A cheater through and through, not sure why they don’t get rid of him? They wanna create a hype machine? Create a new one
Same. He is not anything special when it comes to pure technique. He has no head movement, boxing is shallow, he does not feint, footwork is wack etc. He is great because of extreme physical advantages like length. Also don't forget roads.
I put money on jj to win by decision but after that fight I knew I wasn’t going to get my money cause Reyes truly won that fight, I was shocked at the judges scorecards.
Lol right these people are uneducated jon wins that fight because dom didnt preform in the last 2 rounds, jon was there all fight, and couldve been there after 5 rounds thats why he won. Yea yea dom might have don a little more in the earlier rounds but jon did more work and especially in the champion rounds which he has more experience in than dom, jon is undefeated for a reason

It was definitely a robbery and watching a fight live and scoring it is alot harder than rewatching it and scoring it. Reyes out striked by multiple striked in the first 3 rounds and all jon did was ran
@@MrCholoPants3415 That and the one when Jones said "You knocked out Weidman he's been knocked out how many times?" and Reyes said "When's the last time you've knocked out anyone?"
That's how you gaslight someone though. They come up with a decent comeback and you just say 'durr, good comeback genius'. Most people are so incredibly sheeplike that they'll laugh along.
He said he's taking him serious because he's simply not underestimating him. Dominick is unknown and has nothing to lose which is why he said Dominick is not important enough.
