Happy you are along, Bob. The Lions have not crumbled yet and your Cowboys (I imagine) are looking dangerous - so they'll see each other in the playoffs, I hope. Not a lot of time for football watching on this journey. Days are long and I'm usually up early. Weather keeps me busy, too - like today it's blowing like stink in Charleston. I will be in sunny Florida soon with more-exotic views for you and the rest of the crew. Thanks again for joining me earlier along the way on this adventure.

Hey, Jeff - I appreciate you taking an interest, Bud. I hope you and the misses are able to achieve the dream. Biggest lessons for me: maintaining healthy muscle is a bigger challenge than I imagined - and I allude to that reality a bit; and become comfortable with uncertainty. Technology makes sailing less 'risky' as you likely know. I'm finding that managing the risks of identifying good anchorages is a buildable skill - and I like that I'm getting better at it. Lin and Larry Pardey famously promoted in their books to 'Go small, go now.' I'll agree with their broader sentiment, don't try to be an expert at everything because you will learn so much within the experience. Good luck.

Yes! I re-set my anchor in the cut outside Charleston . . . The current is wicked at title change. My re-set worked like I was using a bowling ball, so I pulled up the anchor and found legacy crab pot rope had tangled in my anchor like spaghetti. Like a laundry basket of rope. I moved along after that. Conversely, Adam's creek was a treat #IloveSeaweed@

Great to see you cranking the old gal up and getting her on a heel. 6kts of speed in that wind - not too shabby at all. We are leaving for our short ocean race on Friday and it has taken us nearly two months to get the boat to the next safety category so we can participate the race but the wind is only looking like it will be 7kts. We will be jealous of your wind. However, it will be a balmy 80 dgrees F - summer down here!! I will send you some photos with my crew mug and you can be part of our crew.

I think sailors like oriental because its a natural point to stop at. Theh also have great facilities such as sailcraft and deatons boatyards on the west side of whittaker creek. Fair winds

Thanks for sharing. Can you share more about your experience (sailing / boating). I have minimal experience but am considering buying a Catalina 36 in the next year or so to liveaboard while I continue working( at least another 2-3 years). Then I would like to do something similar to what you seem to be doing. I've got no set-in stone plans, mostly just dreams at this point.
