Most of the time I cook the pumpkin for dessert. Don't be surprised that the pumpkin can also make a good vegetable dish too. Ingredients & Utensils ↓
The natural sweetness of pumpkin stir fry with minced pork, fried dried shrimps and then topped it with crispy fried shallots will make the whole neighborhood aware of what's for your dinner tonight. Enjoy!

4 pieces of shallots (thin slices)
1 tbsp of dried shrimps: c.lazada.com.m...
1/4 tsp of pepper: c.lazada.com.m...
1/2 tbsp of light soy sauce: c.lazada.com.m...

This is my first time stir frying pumpkin and after putting the lid on and opening in 10 minutes, my pumpkins were mush and breaks easily. Do you constantly lift the lid to check the texture until it's about soft enough to proceed to the next step?

@nomealow. Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I do. Normally the pumpkin cooks really fast especially if cut into small pieces it will take around 5 - 7 minutes to cook before it will melt and mushy. Made this today . So good. I made 3 batches hahahha. Because mom.loves it so much. I didn't have shallots at home so I used onions instead . Still amazing Thanks for the recipe

I tried making this for breaking fast few nights ago... It didn't go well, as i didn't realise how much salt i put in the food until finally eating them 😅. I felt so bad, then my little sister saved it by turning it into masak lemak instead and omg it's goooood Next time i'll definitely make this again and do it better

Hi Fati Nay Nay, thank you for trying this recipe 😀 Wow, this recipe with masak lemak style would be very delicious 😀 I'm happy that you will give it another shot. I would recommend substituting the meat with chicken and also omitting salt completely as the light soy sauce, oyster sauce and dried prawns are ingredients that will bring saltiness to the dish. The amounts should balance out the taste just nicely. I hope it will turn out amazing in the second round! 😀

Hi Jeremiah Raphael, thank you for the question 😄 Yes you can, I would recommend to sprinkle the crispy fried anchovies on top of the dish as a topping, and not to add it while cooking the pumpkin in this recipe. This is because small pieces of anchovies tend to irritate the throat, so I don't recommend crushing them like the shrimp. Hi wang zhi zhong, thanks for the comment 😄 My family prefers it to be soft and creamy. For a firmer result, the pumpkin needs to be soaked in kapur water (as shown here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QQ8v5wnEgGc.html) before cooking 😄
