Wonderful thank you Kate. It took me back some years to when I was high on one of the peaks, freezing, and it did start to snow. Just flurries but enough to say I have been snowed on in WA.

Well done and an epic. The Stirlings are a favourite of mine. To see that end of the range up close is something I've not done. I fly passengers to Bluff Knoll in a glider once or twice a year and is also an awesome experience. When the wind is from the North, I'll stretch it to Ellen's Peak. We take off from the Stirling Range Retreat airfield (opposite the road up to the car park) which takes all of 30 minutes to get to Ellen's and back. Cheers...

Great story, thanks for taking time to share. Did this hike on Anzac weekend 2022 (that last arrow section is an eye opener!). I have a lot of hike/outdoor experience and I still found this the most challenging trail I have ever walked. but the experience is one of my life's highlights. Hopefully this trail wont get loved to death like so many once word gets out.

Thanks. It was early to mid November 2023. Yes it was really challenging trail that’s for sure. I’d hate to be up there in bad weather (hot or cold) and navigating under time pressure would be a nightmare. I loved doing it over 3 days. Yes it’s such a special spot. We hikers, who live outdoors should be the loudest and proudest conservationists. Sadly this sometimes isn’t the case. Happy hiking to you.

Yes, I think my mate Erin had 10. It makes it pretty heavy possibly 19kg pack (with my camera gear). There is no reliable water on the trail for 3 days so we didn't want to take any chances. I would have actually liked a little more as when you are hiking that hard you chew through a fair wack of water.
