When I watched your video, I knew what you were going to buy :). I think I've been watching you too long! I am so glad you had so much fun. What a great group. The Church of Stitchy Kindness. We worship creativity and encouragement. I'm pretty sure if I went back to seminary I could develop a whole systematic theology around this.

I enjoyed hearing about the retreat so much. Such a fun time. And I laughed and laughed about the mirror. Who ever thought that was a good idea?

It's the first time I have watched you and I can't remember when I have ever enjoyed a Flosstube so much. Especially your life encouragement meant so much to me. You have the very best visual type of the Attic that I have ever seen. It was just such a pleasure. I could listen to you talk for a very long time. I live in Gresham but I will be watching far more of your back Flosstubes. Thank you for just being you, the stitching is a bonus!

Then there was a serious moment where we saw the sensitive Anna I just thank you for being you for being real Thank you Anna for taking us. On journeys. That some of us would never be able to go to. It’s so much fun for us to see what goes on especially for those of us who stitch alone and have no one in or out of the family that has any interest in stitching and when you talk about what your stitching they roll there eyes 👀. We stayed in a bedroom in Maine years ago which had a circular bath - opposite the bed! - with huge mirror behind the bath which was very disconcerting to put it mildly😮!! Your suitcase expanded?😂 We knew you'd return with lots of haul after a good time. Thanks for sharing.

You are hysterical, that mirror story. I almost needed a depends, but I hear you, been there. Why they put a huge mirror in front of a toilet, geez. The tour of the Attic was amazing,, such a gorgeous shop, but to me, was overwhelming. How do you ever decide. As a fairly new cross stitcher, I would not know where to begin. I'm a quilter as well, but I don't find quilt shops as overwhelming. So glad you were able to attend and that your fears were unfounded.

Forgot to add that I really like stitching on paper. I have done a dozen Satsuma Street Halloween ornaments. So easy to see the holes so they work well for travel.

Loved this video! I made my first trip there last month. I put myself on waitlist for Summer School. Fingers crossed. Like you say, life happens, and sometimes people have to cancel. Happened for me at Quilter's Affair and I got into another class on a day that I was free. Imagine, July in Sisters, possibly the Attic in August, and Acorns retreat in September. A very creative summer.

It certainly looks like you had a great time. And I definitely undertand your comment about the Depends - I spent 4 days with my sisters last month (from MN, Fl, OH & IL) and we laughed so hard my Depends was well used! (sh! Don't tell anyone.) Love the way you shop too!

56ct -- it has to be purchased when you go to the Attic. Then I realized 56ct is 28 ct stitched over one. I found that it's easier to stitch on 28ct aida over one than to stitch on 56ct linen over two.

People are super crafty and have the neatest FFO's ❤ 😊. I learned long ago that full length mirrors lie and not to look down in the shower 😂😂😂😂. I have discovered I like all manner of cross stitch but am addicted to full coverage pieces and stitching in hand.

So glad you had such a lovely time. Have not done anthing higher than a 25 count, which is a HAED. I am so tempted to try at least a 36 count. Out on a limb is so beautiful i will have to try it. Im very intimidated by using a chart. Use Pattern Keeper or a printed canvas so far. You enable me to try 😂. TFS

Anna, you had me laughing out loud on the treadmill at the Y while seeing you explain about the mirror...have I ever been there! I'm so glad you had a great time, and you've bolstered my confidence to go alone! I might just sign up for Bristol next year! I was at The Attic for the first time ever in February...and also picked up Out on a Limb. Yes, the pattern does not do it justice! What a wonderful place to put a huge dent in your pocketbook! I stitched on paper when I was a child, I’m guessing I was maybe 7 (so, 1957). The design was printed on the paper and I followed the colors of the design. I have them hanging in my guest room. I think mom then had me doing simple embroidery. I distinctly remember her teaching me the lazy daisy stitch. ❤

I had the same experience with the full-length mirror facing the toilet. I warned my roommate. Anybody in the bedroom part can watch you go to the restroom. What genius thought that out? Lol

Thanks for taking us along to your retreat. I made myself a travel stitching case too. I know yours will be very cute. I just received my first Hands Across the Sea chart. However, I just can’t stitch is exactly like it was charted. I hope the Reproduction Police don’t get me. I will be incorporating parts of the chart into a band sampler I’ve already started. Your complaint about the bathroom mirror is how I feel when I go to the hair dresser and sit facing a mirror the whole time my hair is being cut. Too much of a reminder.

I know squat'o about samplers but it looks like it was a freaking FABULOUS time!! That shop looks like a bucket list. Such fun people and happenings!! Love your new name tag!!! Always a good time trying something new. Oh, and I'm sorry but I literally laughed out loud during lunch at my work desk when you described the "mirror" incident.
