STL Amphub Is A Lot Better Than I Expected
STL Amphub is one of my favourite current amp suites. YES, its a subscription which noone likes but the full price is $120 for the year and if you find a special you can generally get it for around $80/year which isn't too bad. They add new amps or pedals every single month so the amp and pedal locker keeps growing month on month!

AmpHub and Tonality JM are my favourite! Awesome channel man 👍

Great video man! Really nice sounding tones. Using amp hub the last week, and having a blast. Very usable all over the board.

I dunno why but Amphub just seems to work so well for me. I "fight" a lot of amp sims but something about Amphub just sits in mixes, works for my ears... not the fanciest thing going around but I fire it up and its good to go in 2 seconds... probably my fav at the moment honestly.

I have a tonne of amp SIMs - 6 or so Neural DSP, Genome, Helix Native, Nembrini, ML Soundlab etc. and AmpHub is always my go to. When I compare tones AmpHub always just stands out. And it’s super easy to dial in. The monthly updates also keep things interesting.

Yeah amphub is awesome. I’m a beta tester for the software now, they’re a good bunch of people as well!

Tuner in AmpHub and other STL products do not show correct results and guitars end up tuned slightly flat. STL support is no help - they don't want to see the problem and correct it. It just seems the reference frequency on STL tuners are chosen incorrectly. For anyone interested: I just did some measurements (best I could): E (should be 82,41 Hz), but is 82,1 Hz in STL A (should be 110 Hz), but is 109,7 Hz d (should be 146,83 Hz), but is 146,6 Hz g (should be 196 Hz), but is 195,6 Hz h (should be 246,94), but is 246,8 Hz e (should be 329,63), is 329,6 Hz If you have the same problem you should write to support.

Super interesting, I’m away for another week or so but I’ll check it out on my setup as well. That’s kind of annoying if it’s tuning flat, good pickup

I wanted an ampsim that could give me a rockerverb, a dual rectifier and jcm800 for pop punk, this is how I found it. Well Amplitube also have all these 3 but I've never liked the interface of Amplitube 5 and it takes a lot of time to make it sound good. On top of that I looove the pedals. I mostly use overdrive pedals and AmpHub has A LOT of them - and again: all of the actual ODs I've been looking for is here. I also like the interface, even though there are a lot of stuff I don't feel overwhelmed. The cab is easy to set up and I like the view since I'm used to mic up real amps. This is the first amp sim I've been completely satisfied with ❤.

I didn’t say it in the amphub video but I will in my roundup at the end. I used amphub recently and was like this is it, has everything I want and more, looks and sounds good, isn’t breaking the bank sold. I wanted to try out all the other amp sims to see if I’m missing any gems. There are some other great ones out there but you’d be hard pressed to beat amphub for value and quality and everything

idk, that bareknuckle aftermath mix is sounding pretty damn good. What drum fx are you using?
@ampspedalspickups
@ampspedalspickups 2 месяца назад
I did a line of ampsim videos and got this drum mix from a friend who used superior 3 then I did the full mix. These days I'm using counterkit a lot of the time and it fits in pretty well with punk/metal stuff

I'm new to playing and recently picked up a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd gen to practice with so that I don't bother anyone in my dorm when practicing. That being said, will this let me hear the change in sound in a playable realtime? I tried using a simulator in Reaper a bit ago but the latency was so bad that I couldn't keep rythym.
@ampspedalspickups
@ampspedalspickups 7 месяцев назад
Yeah it "should" be fine. If you want to get started go download ML Roots (its free) and give that a try. When real time audio is processed you can choose the latency (buffer) inside of reaper (its in preferences --> device --> block size ). The less buffer, the quicker things will sound. If you have your buffer set ultra ultra low like 1-2ms then depending on the audio interface, drivers, performance of the machine you're running, how heavy the plugin usage is etc etc, if it cant process the signal within the buffer you set you'll get pops and glitches. That's like an over explanation... typically just fire up reaper, fire up a plugin... start playing... is it too laggy? Yes, go decrease the buffer in reaper settings. Rinse and repeat lowering the buffer and eventually you'll hit a point where it starts crackling, then back it off a notch or two and hopefully the latency is not really noticable. Start on 512 in block size and see how that goes, if you can decrease it then try 256, 128... if you have to increase then try 1024.

is the really high hissing noise just the nature of the high gain tones on a digital model? It's been bothering me because i felt like it'd sound bad in a mix but idrk?
@ampspedalspickups
@ampspedalspickups Месяц назад
They do have noise but if it’s excessive noise where you start to think it’s bad and affecting the tone then that sounds like something bad could be in the signal and it’s getting “amplified” with the sim If you join the discord server and post a sample I can probably help you out. I’ve had my fair share of noise problems in the past as well

How's the latency in a DAW? does it seem to take a lot of juice?
@ampspedalspickups
@ampspedalspickups 9 месяцев назад
It’s fine, one of the better sims. There are definitely other ones that need more juice but this one is fine, I jam with it all the time

It’s really light. I have song sessions running with 8+ instances of it and my MacStudio is at like 25% CPU and never get any issues at all.
