If Django was still alive he would invite stochelo to his home put one of his recordings on at double speed and laugh and say can you play this. Django had such a great sense of humor in his playing.
Interviewer vd Gipsy Kids is Tommie Egbers?? In dat geval ligt het ongemak zeker niet aan de jongens, dat is 100% Tommie. Die weet van ieder interview een hoogst ongemakkelijk gebeuren te maken.

@@HansjeVdTillaert why the hell would he reproduce his own songs ? he’s an artist not a monkey. have some well trained monkeys copy his original works if they feel the need
@@FenceThis Sultans of swing is one of my favorite songs and every time Mark Knopfler plays this song live it's so different. He transforms his own number so drasticly. If you can show me a recording of him playing his Sultans of Swings in a normal way, I'll take my words back.
@@HansjeVdTillaert my whole point was that as the original creator Mark Knopfler isn’t obliged to perform his own works any particular way or ask anyone about permission. All the golden licks on the original recording are just whatever he came up with that day, why repeat them ? Guitarists incessantly and relentlessly dedicating their whole career to meticulously mimicking others’ spontaneous musical outbursts are basically idiots - or well trained monkeys if you like. I know that exercise is very big in the whole of the manouche swing society and that Stochelo is particularly fond of repeating his own and Django’s solos ad infinitum but what does that say about the level of creativity ? The world will always remember Django or Mark Knopfler for being creative, trendsetting geniuses while at best remember Stochelo, Jimmy or the likes for being very skilled, hardworking plagiarists
