Their best ever album, Still play it often, What a voice, what a singer and a banger of a track. Just a shame people were fed ud with PWL. I love them, their style, But hen I like Steps and Abba ;)
"this time I Know It's For Real" was released on valentine's day 1989 (13rd Feb. 1989) was a success wellcome back for Donna... A.P.A.T was her renaissance album
"It's a very kind of European, English sound. Donna came from America." But her producers were British and Italian and she lived and performed in Germany, so her sound was definitely influenced by those factors.
Me too!!! Lonnie Gordon’s great song “Happening all Over Again” was supposedly written for Donna’s second SAW album which never came to fruition. Instead she released “Mistaken Identity” in 1991 which was so so and really didn’t have the gems of her previous album, “Another Place and Time”….
Donna said she wished she could have worked on the album more, but SAW works so quickly, it's like a factory or an assembly line, they have an idea, they write it, the next day all the tracks are done and ready for the vocals, you sing it, wham-bam on to the next song. Love's About to Change My Heart and This Time I Know Its for Real are the best two tracks. I was hoping they would do at least one song with a real edge to it, like Dead or Alive. Donna's Bad Girl's album had an edge to a lot of the songs, especially Not Stuff. I can't stand Rick Astley. He's just so boring. I'm not saying he isn't talented, it's just that his songs bore me to tears. Donna's voice is incredible.
Matt Stock and Mike Aitken get such little coverage . I didn't know what they looked like compared with Pete Waterman who was on the telly all the time and even pops up now and then nowadays. Mister Stock and Mister Aitken not so much.
Personally, I have always found Another Place In Time rather boring. What Donna produced with Giorgio Moroder was, is and always will be revolutionary. SAW really could have expanded their horizons with Donna but they made tracks that sounded exactly like everyone else they produced in 1989.
I partly agree. This time I know it's for real, and Love's about to change my heart where outstanding. Lyric wise the only awful song was I don't wanna get hurt. Not the lyrics for an adult woman, and it would have been a better fit for Kylie or Sonia at this time.
