Nice build . I was at cicero on that day. Did you make it out there ? Im gonna hit junk yard in a few days and loonlk for a 351 . Ughh 94 -97 for roller correct ?.
Awesome you absolutely can't go wrong with the 351wbut look for 96 and up that's the roller block I just wish Cicero would not be in the rain belt😒and have to cancel all the time I'm going to try to get there this Sunday for test and tune if tech guy will let me make a couple passes 🙏🙏🙏
@@mikenichols6208 the truck I got my engine out of was a 97 that might be the last year but you might be right about the 94 bring a roller good luck on your build
No it was trailed to the dyno and back home it was a 45 mile drive both ways and it gets horrible fuel mileage with my heavy right foot and 112 racing fuel at 14.00 a gal not good
Front plate and bracket has to go. Worth the risk of a ticket. I live in front plate Maryland and have never run a front plate in the 7 yrs I have had my 88 hatch. Never been pulled over.
It was nice meeting you at Jake's Dragstrip. Love the car and what you have done with it. I will be posting shorts with your car in them as they come around. I post them in order of filming.
Nice job brotha! I'm proud of your build too. I've been tuning back in for new vids. My Ford F100 has twin GT3582's, 6 lbs. boost, 2 barrel Autolite Blow thru. I'm done with my build. It drives great just need to lock out my timing soon. If you have time check out my last couple vids and throw your opinion on timing and locking out my stock dizzy. I'm thinking conservative at 18/20.
Congratulations for your achievement and I will say that I don't impress much at my age and I have seen almost everything, but I am going to have to say that I have to add this to my list. Goes right up there with 3 TV channels, rotary phone , and a couple of others like 75 cent premium leaded gasoline. Good morning and great day to you all.
I never expected the power I got first thing I thought I would have to fight for it but 630 tq and 627 hp isn't bad for stock bottom end at the wheels thanks for watching my channel 👍
Im a new subscriber i just pick up a 351 w from a 97 f350 what do you think of 408 stroker kit for it i sold my 302 and im going with a carburetor setup what size carburetor you recommend and size aluminum heads and brand i appropriate your advice thanks keep posting videos love them
Ok let's start from the beginning I like the 408 stroker the only problem with it is you need to open up barring clearance to about 0.003 on the mains and 0.0025 on the rods it's hard to beat a Holley or equivalent 750 CFM and maybe a 850 double pumper as far as heads it depends on horsepower goals you have but any thing from 185 to 205 would be awesome as far as brands that kinda depends on budget but I like tfs .. I really appreciate you watching my channel 👍
I love nitrous but where I live it's almost impossible to get that's why I went with a turbo..and I'll never look back I really appreciate you watching and subscribing to my channel it's greatly appreciated 👍
It's hard to tell if your looking at a plug that didn't get turned off at the end of the run and never started again until read. Timing is read on the ground strap. Fuel is read on the center porcelain. The ring of fuel stain on the porcelain should be about 1/8 inch from the bottom. Timing can be from the bend in the strap back to the shell of the plug. A mill or a grinder can be used to get a real clear view of the fuel stain ring. Removing the rolled over shoulder of the plug to pull the porcelain from the shell. This is where I would start. Looks real rich. But if it didn't get a clean cut at the end of the pass it won't tell you nothing. You may already know these things. Don't trust the air fuel ratio. The plug is the only thing that tell the truth. That is going to be a lot of fun.
@@brawler3475.0 Your welcome to stop by and say hey, I'm in the neighborhood behind Boarhogs BBQ. I have a 78 bronco with 351M block with and Edlebrock VRS 4150 Double pumper (the new street/race carb) that I'm fine tuning. Top is off for the summer a couple more weeks. I also know lots of fun 2A stuff in the Huntsville area if yall get bored.
nice job on the car it's a beast, love the home-built setup! I have a stock bottom end turbo 302 Clevo (Aus) i can't go anywhere near the boost you're looking at due to the limitations of the block. Keep at it@@brawler3475.0
The rear has a posi def a girdle and 31 spline axles new upper and lower tubular control arms should be good for the while 👍 thanks for watching my channel it's greatly appreciated
Po boys need to stick with a 351w! Forget 331-347 stroker! Shot 150 on a cast piston 351w for 2 years! Speed pro premium cast piston with the big valve reliefs!
I couldn't agree more I don't think you have to mortgage your house to pay for parts most factory parts will hold a lot more power than most people think thank you for watching my channel 👍
@brawler3475.0 Stop building 347's! Build a 393w! Its cheap, reliable, but they are getting hard to find! I have one, standard bore! Got a couple flat tappet blocked on pallets with a hood covering them! The gold is in the sheds and woods! Old junkyards! I'd just buy a roller short block! Heads, can, and intake!
@brawler3475.0 well, between us, you can shoot 200 on stock rods and cast pistons, you just gotta pull so much timing out that it's not worth it! "Nitrous does not blow up motors, we do!" I stole that, but I don't like the asshole anyway!
@brawler3475.0 let's face this, it's just s!#ts and giggles! Don't ever get past that! This s@#t can get up on the table before you know it! That's why I refused to drive! I'm an adrenaline junkie!
To my understanding … if you add timing in the motor on the dyno it raises torque if you put bigger jets / more fuel to it it raises horsepower … “ i may have that backwards tho” i seen that on powernation .. their object was to have the hp and tq numbers as close as they could get them .
That's right with the timing and the jetting but according to Richard holder the closer the torque is to the horsepower the milder the engine I would have to have had more horsepower than torque but 627 and 630 and you can't go wrong thanks for watching my channel I appreciate it
@@brawler3475.0 id be satisfied with that in my get around town car … I can only hope i can have that much hp n torque in my street mustang when its done .. my hot rod im looking for way more !! Lol btw thanks fir putting up videos for me to watch … i enjoy seeing how you put your car together and i enjoy learning all about the turbo part .. i have bought turbos but never had installed them yet .. i gotta build my own blow thru carb and honestly other than having so much other stuff to work on ive never got started on my turbo build yet .. and i feel like im not educated enough to do it but we wont know til i get started on it !!!!
@@glennramsey917 stop 🛑 putting yourself down I didn't know anything about blow thru till I started doing it. Believe me. if can do it you can and that's just a starting point I would like to see 700 ish wheel
@@brawler3475.0 im not putting myself down i just gotta get it right the first time .. i cant afford to pop head gaskets bend rods or lean a motor out .. i know the more education i can gather up the better off ill be … lol
@brawler3475.0 a light tan is good, dark is fat, burned electrode is way too lean! Personally, and I've been out 15 years, a little fat won't kill you, lean will! That's my advice, from 15 years of low buck racing, take it, leave it, doesn't MAF to me! We ran a cast piston 351w 6:80s 1/8 mile on 93 octain! 2750 lb car! Tried av gas, race gas, didn't matter because it didn't need more than 93 obtain pump gas! That's cheap fun!
@brawler3475.0 that means you're just a little fat! If you don't get stupid it'll run forever! Lean is mean, you may hear that? But, rednecks on a budget need to keep it alive! The lean is mean probably came from the builder of dope dealers! The best quote I've ever heard was way back when we were starting to go fast, "you can't compete working by the hour against guys working by the gram!" He was right, if you beat them Friday night by next Friday they're back!
@brawler3475.0 That means it's a little fat! But, what was the time? Maybe it likes it a little richer! Maybe a bigger carb and start from there! If your happy with what you got, forget that last statement! But, if you are, the plugs show you're pretty close on the jets! Like a redneck in the sun, if you get past a little tan?!!
@brawler3475.0 I'm 63 years old son, tuning by looking at the plugs is a lost art! I likeked it a little fat, but to each his own! Back when we were racing an old timer (bout my age now) told us, " you can't compete working by the hour with asshole working by the gram!" He was right! That's why bracket racing is popular, yet boring as hell!
