@@KodiBrehdon some people would feel faster with that sound. It comes to personal preference, besides, if the GTRs were pushing it and the drivers knew the track really well, they'd be much faster
Some of us live in the mountains where turning is necessary :) the rumor is we’re getting an AWD 4 door Corolla with that engine and a 6MT so one can hope!
YO THIS YARIS GR SOUND GUD, ACCEL QUICKOOL, MT, AND AWDHOOH! ONCE IN A LIFUHTIME! *Crying Noises in the background* 40k USD if Yaris GR ever comes to state. I am forgotten..... - Focus RS
That is true , very long time i dont see a small car with AWD and 250hp. This car remember me cars for the 80” Alot of power .... For the haters you dont nead a car with 400 ot 600 hp to have fun
@@person2186 personally I prefer this over the type r because it's a 1.6 and not 2.0 that means at least in my country the taxes for the Yaris is less then half plus the Yaris has a awd system and in my opinion it's prettier
@@TheJBftw the new z4 is a modified supra u can say. Toyota needed bmws 6 cylinder expertise to make the supra. And bmw asked Toyota to help with the next z4. So I donno why people are so pissed.
@@misterpacha1 Not pissed just sad that Japan gave up on the expertise they built in the 90's in favor of profit. Especially since they already had a 6cyl engine, the almighty 2JZ-GTE from the 4th gen Supra.
Get out of my way GTR there is a bend ahead. What a planted little 3 cylinder set up to a very clever 4 WD can achieve is just incredible. Well done Gazoo Racing and Toyota for doing this.
@@captaingaskrank4216 What kind of variant of the Yaris you was using ? Normal, premium, or track version ? Which mode you was running also, Sport or Track ? Interesting to know these informations, to get an idea of the performances depend on the settings. Thanks Btw, great driving skills and video ! 😉👍👏🔥💯🏆🏁
@@djorksolo8544 3 versions? In Europe we get the one without diffs and with Goodyear tires and the circuit pack with 2 torsen front and rear diffs, different and lighter wheels and ps4s tires
@@LorenzoClara97 3 variants if you prefer. Maybe in some countries they sale directly starting with the premium variant. So It offers only 2 possibilities.
An amazing time for this car. Even more so when you take into account the fact that it is November and the track temperature is almost certainly very low with poor grip levels. Although one thing that worry me is that it will be too grippy for normal driving. Lots of cars that are fast at the nurburgring aren't actually that fun on a normal road.
You can almost guarantee that this car is super fun on normal roads, test drove one yesterday and they are amazing. The sports feature for 30/70 power at the rear is soooo much.
That was a great lap and fun to watch...kudos to Captain Gaskrank indeed. I'd be very interested to see what it could do on a full lap (not just BTG) with a pro driving in the future, as this is obviously a very capable little car. Great job with your lap, and nice driving too!
I love this result. What else was just under the 8 min mark, 4WD, Turbo, and fun to drive with some very trick differentials?(and a real manual...) The BCNR33. All 3 Gens of the Skyline GTR were fun to drive, and fast enough to have a good time on most any road/circuit and actually enjoy the car. Im happy to see Toyota made a car more or less for someone who wants to drive the car and hoon around, not shave 0.004 sec of their Ring time.
They shouldn't be. It's the base for the new WRC after all.But it IS fun to see Toyota's engineers go all out once in a while. Last time that happened, we got the LFA. :)
Are we able to understand that we're talking 3 cylinders here? haha damn this thing is a beast!!!!! if toyota did this then imagine what would have they done if they'd put their heads into a 3JZ!!
A Skyline fanboy would recognize them as GT-R R35's, not Skylines. The Skyline and GT-R split into V (V35) and R (R35) at the 11th generation. No Skyline has held a GT-R badge since the R34.
@@thisisntsergio1352 Of course the world know. What are you talking about ? Maybe you don't know and that's okay. But the Yaris is a sport car with 261HP. Thank you Toyota for making this car by the way. It is a jewel. Of course this Yaris GR is very fast for what it is. It's amazing what Toyota did with this car. But it would never keep up even the first version of the GT-R. The Nissan GT-R is way to fast for this. It's a supercar. Even the very first version of the GT-R do 7:08 here and it's a full lap not BTG. The difference is huge, not even comparable. It's like saying a Porsche GT3RS is slower than a Yaris GR at the Nurburgring. The driver obviously let him pass. You can see it and hear it.
@@thisisntsergio1352 We can very well see that the driver of the GT-R put the blinker to let the driver of the Yaris pass because he is setting a time on the circuit. When the GT-R accelerates we can already see that there is a huge gap between the Yaris and the GT-R. So the GT-R driver brakes and lets him pass to let him. It's kind of him.
Bin seit vielen Jahren Toyota-Fan.
A year since the last comment, but here goes. I so admire the driving on this lap, and all the GR Yaris/Ring videos I'm watching. At 97, a friend of a friend who owns a SoCal Toyota dealership is trying to help me get a GR Corolla ASAP. I'll take any configuration and color for expediency. I'll surprise my Saturday canyon carving/breakfast eating group like anything. It will replace my Honda Fit, called a Porsche harasser.
This little pocket rocket has taken the motoring world by storm. Massive respect to Toyota for having the chutzpah to push this gem out into a sanitised world of hybrids and EVs. Certainly their best enthusiasts car since the MK1 MR2. Who says Japanese manufacturers have no soul?.
Best smiles for miles car around. Proper old school. Very well driven🎖️👏 must be fun humbling these 911/GTR's . Also credit to Toyota & their CEO for this car, shows they have a car man not an accountant at the helm.🙏
What Drive mode was he In? Would be interesting to see difference between track mode and sport mode.. If difference in power split would make any difference
I don’t think there is a lot of time left in that car 👍! Seems like you were fighting a lot of understeer though… Do you think it would benefit from some more negative camber at the front?
@@mattyoz0 New Zealand. As it's turned out, I still haven't head back from Toyota - I may be missing out after all :( They only got 100 to NZ, plus 8 extra and there are ofter 50 more orders
I feel ya. Only getting an H4 myself, but so far have to wait until late June to get it. It wouldn't surprise me if it got delayed. The salesman that sold it to me even hopes for sometime in May, but so far I will be pleased with the official date of June 28th.
It is 7 minutes 40 seconds by wearing in a radial tire made in Japan. Is 245-18 or 255/35-18& car high adjustment suspension the 30 seconds level if I put it on? A45AMG to a cuttlefish the car (without the contents) only for numbers it can be understood. A price premium in this GR in several years. A sale price.
please, toyota. please give this to us in the states! i would buy this immediately if it were an option. i will never buy the uglier, fatter corolla GR.
Damn fine driving, balls of steel, quick even with a few errors at the start, blimey that was close. I reckon you could go even quicker, maybe near 0750.
I feel toyota is now a company that can give me a complete driving experience with a selection of there cars. Imagine having a mr2 mk3 with a 2zz for top down and precise raw driving. A gt86 for a more sensible daily that never lets a regular journey be dull especially if its 🌧 raining. Then a Yaris with the circuit pack tuned up to 300bhp for speed and aggression
Show me a STOCK Toyota Yaris GR Convenience Pack, go round the Nordschleife, and I could be 100 per cent more interested in how quick it is? Or slower than this E Circuit Pack model.....................
