Stockard Channing discusses her life and career and sings "I Still Believe in Love" from "They're Playing Our Song". Also appearing is the great Ethel Merman.
Wow no matter how decades pass, music is truly timeless. It touches us and enters into each of our own separate unique heartbreaks we’ve experienced but effects us all the same , soothes us and makes us reflect on the past but try and believe in the future❤️
I would have loved an album by her, back at that time. I was fascinated by her singing in "Grease" when I was a kid. I kept going to see the film over and over, just to see "There Are Worse Things I Could Do".
First, it's not only 1 year. Grease was filmed in the summer of 1977. Also, makeup and lighting, maybe her short haircut, are used to make actors look younger or older for parts. You should see the documentary on the making of Gone with the Wind and how they used makeup on Leslie Howard who was like 39 to play Ashley Wilkes and the character was supposed to be in his early 20s.
Big fan of both women and I'm just struck by the. similarities of the two. I can totally see Stockard playing Ethel as a part of her BIO ( in 1979). If wishes were candy....
