Of course, fish are key to the eco-system of a pond. It's amazing to watch. My grandmother had irrigation ponds dug on her farm, then stocked with fish. Within five years, those ponds and adjacent areas were just teeming with wildlife.

To be clear state fishing reports at the time say fishing conditions “good”...updated and everything. Don’t trust fishing reports folks...stick to places you know to have real stockings not bullshit in order to try to attract people to their businesses in hopes of catching their limits

Scary Lary When I fish at the pier the Chinese people there catch all the fucking fish. Literally pulling out 10 fish each time. And there's about 12 of them doing that. At the end of the day they have 5 buckets filled with mackeral. And they constantly do that every day. That can't be good for the environment

Scary Lary What can the cops do? There's no limit on how many fish you can catch and once the cops get there they'll say that they aren't selling the fish even though they are.
Where I live, the closest lake is basically an irrigation dam for the local orange and avocado growers, it is stocked every year by Fish and Game with rainbow trout because the "lake bed " is unsuitable for trout spawning. This dam is 3 to 4 miles around and the trout only get to about 2 to 3 lb, but still fun.

The guy on the fish truck has a bit more experience than you as well. He knew that fish would swim faster than his kick that got the fish back to open water.
They re-stock lakes all the time. I've been at certain lakes around where I live and the fisheries will come in and put 3-4ooo trout about 6-8 inches long. The old guys bobber fish, swap tales and have a good time just being there ?
That would be a fun job , and you always would know where the fish were . I helped the DFG trout truck in the Santa Ynez river , I got to carry buckets of small trout and dump them in the river . It was a blast watching them darting all over . Good times .

I always get confused by things like this, my local river in iTALY also gets stocked. I have always had a aquarium at home and to intorduce new fish there is a climitising process. emperature, water quality, etc, so how many of these fish actually survive having not been climitised or the dram of transportation ????

All the people talking crap about stocking fish in Stanley Lake, Idaho really have no clue! This is one of the the coldest places in the US other than Alaska. It freezes here more in a calendar year than any other place in the US. ( night time temps) That Lake is froze over for about 9 months out of the year. It's a mud puddle? It's prob cleaner water than what all you city urban folk drink! They stock this lake because most of the hold overs die from lake trout (big macks) and the elements or lack of food etc. a few get caught but they probably stock this lake every two to three years at the most. Google meadow lake in Idaho same thing. You can go there in June July August and you might see it snow!

Chances are this lake doesn't naturally have trout. It's a put and take system paid for by fishing licenses. It has NOTHING to do with restoration of an ecosystem. Read a little bit before you jump to conclusions

I thought the same til I saw them blasting out the end of the hose then happily swimming around (or going wtf) afterward. It reminded me of a giant awesome water slide I went down at Wisconsin Dells called "BLACK HOLE". It was a closed tunnel slide that basically went 90 degrees straight down and under the ground before it blasted you out the end! There was a big "heart attack warning" sign at the entrance, lol.
