Take that organic salad mix in that plastic container open it put paper towels on top and then close it and sit it upside down in your refrigerator and it will last for a really long time

I get so amazed how you are able to come up with ideas to make things when you don't have what you need. My mind jyst don't work like that. I admire that about you. Those kale salads freeze well for use in stir-fry recipes or soups! I hear you about food waste. I’m working on using up what’s in my fridge/freezer before I buy anything else. I have a freezer full of veg from my garden. I have to handcuff myself not to buy fresh vegetables in March 😂. I still have loads of winter squash from my garden, too! Oh boy! I’m going to look like a vegetable by the time I plant my 2023 garden 😂. That salad bar is a super great idea!! Looks delicious. Well girl, it looks like you need a pantry restock! Good for you, with using things up! Doritos, croutons, cheese, cranberries and nuts all make a nice mix to throw into salads. Yum!

I spray my veggie containers with a vinegar/water (50/50) mix. Then spray the cleaned, cut fruit& veg, as i fill them. Have had lettuce last for 2+ weeks.

Restaurant use lettuce chop machine it's nice. That was my job soup/salad bar. Theory behind is chop smaller people will take less. Less cost.

I put my whole cabbage in the freezer then when I want to make cabbage rolls or lazy man’s cabbage roll casserole I just take it out and thaw it and I don’t have to boil the leaves before rolling the meat mixture into them, except maybe the very middle leaves but I use those to cover my cabbage rolls so they don’t get to dark

You don't even have to put the green onions in the fridge you can leave them on the counter in the jar of water you do have to change the water out dump and refill periodically

I have the best dip for veggies, 1cup mayo, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 med onion GRATED juice and all, 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger, mix all well best if sits overnight in the refrigerator. It's a family favorite. Hope you like it😊

CC Pizza, I remember that place..Loved the salad bar there too! Omgoodness, it went out of business here when my kids were still little. Yes, I love when my salad is in little pieces too, seems the cheese and dressing mixed so well when the lettuce was itty bitty. Miss that place :) Oh, the cinnamon stix thingies too...YUM! My favorite food, salad ir...chef's salad with egg, croutons, cheese, bacon bits and what ever else. Remember pizza huts house ranch? OMGOODNESS OK, my mouth is watering lol Its just not fair, I can't eat lettuce now. Not fair..so I'm going to go feel sorry for myself, find something to eat. Lol I love ya girl xo

It’s not the germs that are the problem it’s the pesticides they use to grow the veg. If you buy organic you can get away with it but I know in USA they are not as strict as here in the uk.

What do you think about people that dumpster drive for food out of dumpsters and take home to feed their babies and kids because they went to save money and do not went to pay for groceries for their family and they call them self freaking fungal and do not went health insurance for their family members?
