OLD SCHOOL BRAISED BEEF BRISKET/NATURAL GRAVY
This is my simple and easy way to cook beef brisket fast and quick in the oven
Very juicy and flavorful results
RECIPE:
15# beef brisket
2 sweet onions sliced
1/4 cup chopped garlic
1 quart water
bbq rub(i use uncle steves competition beef shake)
Season brisket and place in deep pan on a rack fat side up
Place in 450 degree oven for 30 minutes until browned
Remove from oven and add sliced onions and garlic on top of beef
Add water and cover completely with foil
Cook on 350 degrees for 4-5 hours or until tender
Use leftover juice to make gravy by just draining and thickening with roux
Enjoy with mashed potatoes and corn ,green-beans

We,ve decided to cook everything we eat. Food at the restaurants is outrageous. I,m not telling you all anything you don,t know. I like to figure up what each meal costs. You can almost count on $15 each at even a fast food window. We eat great meals for about $4. Those cakes you make would easily be $30 at least here. Selling per piece in any restaurant is $4.50 on up. He,s doing it right! Love your show,and your recipes.

Enjoyed preservation element of this video - as a single 64 dude, I do this similarly - hard to cook for one person and vacuum packing is the way to go. Never done a braised brisket but added to grocery list just now. LOL

Hi Chef Geoffrey, I appreciate this video! I have a food saver, I never thought to use my food saver in this manner. When I buy my meats in bulk, I would use my food saver that way. Thanks again, and yes. more videos and tips, please.

Thank you, I echo what a lot of people are saying I love watching. It was educational, I didn't know how to use the food saver so thank you. This is what my grandparents did. That is what canning was all about, so when they didn't want to cook it was already there. They didn't have a food saver but they knew how to preserve food. By the way that food looked awesome. Absolutely Amazing!! Great tip! My mom was good at preparing food that she could freeze for a later meal. Didn’t know the reason behind it until I grew up! She would say it’s all about saving money when and where you can. I see you’re cut from the same cloth. Great video!!
