The Stockton Fire Department is one of the busiest in the country. Only 12 firehouses protect more than 340,000 citizens, generating more than 47,000 emergencies. The average national fire engine responds to 1,200 emergencies a year; the average Stockton fire engine responds to 3,600- with two engines responding to more than 6,000 emergencies. The Stockton Fire Department averages at least one working structure fire a day, and is committed to performing aggressive interior fire attacks to save life and property. Our fire department additionally maintains 3 specialty programs: Heavy (technical) Rescue, Hazardous Material Response, and Dive Rescue. We are an ALS agency who prides themselves on the highest level of emergency and non-emergency customer service.
