Stockton Firefighters, family, and friends gathered at the memorial space at McLeod Lake in Stockton on the morning of October 1st, 2017. The formal service has been held annually to remember the 13 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice; who gave their lives to protect the citizens and City of Stockton. This memorial specifically recognized Brett Laws and Bryan Golden, two firefighters that died in a house fire on Mendocino Avenue 20 years ago on February 6th, 1997.
The Stockton Fallen Firefighters Monument is currently removed from the space, after suffering repeated vandalism and graffiti in the last few years. Firefighters removed the beautiful statues, plaques, and memorial bricks to better protect them- and are currently in the process of a renovation project that will relocate them to the front of Firehouse 6 in Victory Park. This project will be financially and emotionally costly. Please donate to the Stockton Firefighters Relief Association if you can, at:

Fire Captain Erik Patten explains the Memorial Observation and the reason for the Monument's move. We would like to thank all who attended, as well as a special thanks to Ron Ramos of Eastside Fire Photos for filming the event. We are proud to serve and protect the citizens and City of Stockton, California.
