stoke space never copied the raptor or starship... the "nova" rocket by stoke space is a completely different design and the engine isnt a copy even if it has the same cycle and fuel
The information in this video is not correct. The first stage of stokes Nova rocket uses methane and liquid oxygen (methalox). Not hydrogen and liquid oxygen. They only use hydrolox for the second stage. Check your information before making a video about it
Before Roger Bannister ran the first 4 minute mile, all the pundits said it couldn't be done. Once he accomplished the feat, many others followed. So it will be with reusability. Now that it has been demonstrated, all the young geniuses will be lining up to do the same.
I for one and very happy to see that someone is trying to do things the same way that SpaceX does. I do not believe they will ever be a competitor of SpaceX, but at least they are going in the right direction.
This is a great idea for a second stage that will eventually reenter the Earth's ( or any other planet ) atmosphere. Useless in longer space journeys. PS. , this engine is a hydrogen fueled engine.
The information in this video is not correct. They use methalox (methane and liquid oxigen) and lox with this engine. They only use hydrolox in the 2nd stage.
Even if they fail to pass SpaceX, I could see the smaller engines and aerospike tech being used for smaller craft or probes working with SpaceX. By following a path like SpaceX the designs would likely be easier to cross adapt for special needs down the road. With the aerospike engine I could see it as a viable lifeboat craft as well, with the larger SpaceX focused on bigger payloads and crews. While SpaceX focused on big bulk runs and longer ranges a company focused more focused on the small end could be used for rapid deployment and could be better for some military uses as well.
Collect ice, melt it and filter. Put in electrolysis cell, split water into H2 and O2 gas, collect and liquify. Its easier than making methane on mars and that isnt hard either.
I think one of the important part of reusability is where it going to lead you to once you master all the aspects of reusability you go into the realm of making space travel a normal thing .where we see now it is an event but if you watch any space movie you would see that seeing a space ship fly away was an everyday experience .Instead of a booster and a ship we will have just ships just like we have airplanes and don't speak about how we reuse the same airplane.
Maybe soon we can use a technology so Internet users can view our home world all the way to the moon. Also to properly check out it's surface like Google Earth but better, not CGI layers addad. Actually looking for real, real time type stuff. We would need what? Like a private geo stationary group of satellites and staff ? If i was a billionaire it would be done already. Om that note I wonder what David Adair is doing up there lately? He has many plans but not aeen anything yet. Has anyone? ❤UK.
