Hi! My name is Erika and welcome to my RU-vid channel. I've had this channel since 2009 but only started uploading regularly last year. I am a born and raised New Yorker. I've been a performer my whole life and in 2009 was offered the job of a lifetime - performing for Disney Cruise Line. Over three years with the company, I portrayed some of Disney's most beloved characters, danced my heart out, and met my husband! In 2013, I moved up to Toronto, Canada and studied for my full STOTT Pilates certification. Then, that summer, my husband and I got our first apartment on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, NY! In December 2013, my husband (then boyfriend) came home from his last ship contract and proposed! We got married at The Russian Tea Room in New York City on January 24th, 2015. We love adventure, and after 3 years living in Manhattan, in May 2016, we moved down to Celebration, Florida! In December 2016, I danced in the Macy's Holiday Parade at Universal Studios and had the time of my life! Although we've loved Florida, in May 2017, we moved back to New York to be closer to family and friends. In June 2017, we got the best news in the world - that we were expecting our first baby due March 2018. on February 28th, 2018 our little Hugo William was born. He is the light of our lives. PHEW.. So that's my story! I don't know what adventures lie ahead but I am SO excited to share them with all of you!

Little tip (and as they say in the video later) : it is better for your back and easier to fit baby into a highchair from the back of the chair.You hold the torso with one arm/hand and hold the bottom/legs with your other hand (and guiding the feet into the holes of the chair). Same to take baby out of the highchair ;)

I also struggled to get our little one in the chair. Your tips of straightening legs and inserting from the back of the chair were ++ helpful!

Tripp Trapp are everywhere over here in Europe... me & my younger brothers had them too when we were babes... and we‘re all in our twenties now. 😊 always really liked those actually. I hope you‘ll like yours... oh and from what I know you can totally use the Tripp Trapp with just the straps depending on how big your kid is.

thanks for your video! i have the exact same skip hop chair and just bought a stokke tripp trapp by chance because the skip hop was hard to clean. and after watching your video i found out that the skip hop chair is on RECALL! I wouldn't have known if I didn't watch your video! thanks!!

I was just looking for a review on this chair as I was considering buying it, but as you know it's costly so I haven't been sure. I've a big baby girl(6months and 74cm and 10kilos) and she fits fine in the stokke chair. They are the greatest chairs I've came across to. You don't need the pillows for your child, as they make the seating smaller.

You don't really need the tray. At least we didn't. Our daughter just sits at the table with us and has the table as her tray. Also, we don't use the baby safety belt, as we never leave her unsupervised anyway. But I do believe the safety belt is mandatory in the US and you can't buy them without, unlike here in Europe.

Thank you for the measurements!!! My babies are huge and off the charts I might get the steps one because it has the adjustable back piece but I like the look of the Tripp trap better then steps version. Would you still get the same one knowing there was an adjustable one?

Hey there! We also bought the 2019 Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair in Walnut Brown and Grey Star. It arrived at the very end of May 2019 and it works, but the crotch strap does not have a plastic adjuster like the shoulder and waist strap. However, in your video, you have a crotch adjuster (to help make it tighter or looser.) I called Stokke and she said the US version of the high chair does not have an adjuster where the UK version does. However, aren't you in the US? We also bought it from Buy Buy Baby in May 2019. HELP!

Thank you for this! Trying to decide! Question: the high chair he was sitting in before looked OK to me. What was the name of that and why didn't you like it? The Stokke still looks difficult to clean. Don't the cushions get dirty? How do you wash those? They look like they'd stain easily. Did you use the cushions the whole time? The underside of the tray looked like it had a million diamond-shaped crevices, which also makes me think the tray would be hard to clean.

hi, great review. One question though, is plastic strap that goes across the two shoulder straps meant to be in the back, or is it supposed to be like a chest clip?

Great question. It goes in the back .. there’s a separate clip in the front for the straps.

What happens if the baby outgrows the babyset? Can you attach the harness to the chair? Coz I read it’s not possible. Have you tried it?

The chair comes with a harness attached to it when you buy it, independent to the baby set.

It depends where you are from. In Europe the harness doesn't come with the chair. You have to purchase the harness separately. I never used and still don't use a harness. I'm enough of a parent to watch my child and make sure they don't try to crawl out of the chair when they are young. The babyset lasts until age 3 unless your baby is obese. My daughter is 18 months old and is in the 60th percentile for height and weight. She still fits in the baby seat. I can see it being another 18 months before she grows out of the baby seat. Once she is 3 she'll be able to get on and off the chair safely.

At the time I filmed this video my son was 11 months old and around 25 pounds and 27 inches long .. he’s a bit bigger now (he’s 14 months) and he still fits in the chair but he’s outgrown the straps

Minute 2:44 you don’t explain how you got the straps to go through the cushion part. Why skip and not show how it was done. It’s the only part can’t figure out
