Here is an informational review of the Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair. I tell you what I like and what I dislike about it. Even though I had some not so good things to say about it my wife has a totally different opinion. Anyway the Stokee also comes in varies colors as well. Let me know if you have any questions.

I could not figure out how to easily remove the tray. Thank you for clearly showing how without 10 minutes of preamble like all of the other videos out there!

Thank you for your experience to use it for babies. Personally I love this chair and used it for my son, we started to use when he was already 4, at his 5 it was the best solution fir our first piano lessons, later for his table to study at school. It is also a great chair to sit for adults! I missed it and now I bought one for my grandchild :)

Great review, thanks for taking time to put this together I really like how you addressed the real issues you face in day-to-day use. I can relate to this on many products that are 'great' but have specific terrible design issues..like for instance the uppababy vista, the waist harness strap adjustments do not stay after adjusted, the 'lock ring' just slides around on the harness loosening. Maybe our kid is just squirmy but I watched a number of reviews before purchasing and no one mentioned that issue.

Have the same seat and baby set. I love the chair and the concept behind in. Haven’t faced the issue you have with getting baby in and out, what’s easiest for me is standing behind the seat to put baby in, rather than in front of it. That way I can clearly see baby’s knees and the feet holes and get everything lined up. Given the option, I think I’d buy it again, but the baby set does have some serious design flaws: 1) the tray is open on the bottom and has 1,000,000 tiny crevices. One gooey baby hand with peanut butter or tomato sauce on it, and I’m scrubbing way longer than I need to. 2) the straps can’t be removed from the baby set. Not only are they in the way and probably a bit uncomfortable, they also pose a cleanliness challenge since there’s no good way to clean them. I do my best by wiping the fabric down following meals, but they honestly need to be soaked at this point. 3) the only way to remove the seat cushion is to remove the plastic baby insert (mine is really challenging to get out). Because it’s so difficult to remove the baby insert, we stopped using the seat cushion.

I love our Tripp Trapp. I have not had any of the issues that you mentioned. My kids fit in the chair from birth ( with infant seat) till 8 years old. Sold our chair for $150 8 years later. I think there's a good reason for the high resale value. It's a simple, classy, easy to clean chair that looks right at home at the dinner table. I had a fisher price chair with our first kid, and it was a cumbersome eyesore.

Have you used a standard high chair prior to this one? I couldn't stand how dirty ours was all the time. I was tired of washing the cover daily. We now have the Tripp trapp without a cushion and it's a breeze to wipe it down. I haven't had an issue with pinching fingers but we just leave the tray on all the time. My son is 2 and while it's tight, he can still get in and out without a problem. I'm looking to get the play tray (not sold by stokke, it's an aftermarket accessory) since it doesn't require the infant seat portion to use and therefore should give him a little more room. I absolutely love our Tripp trapp. I feel like it's the best children's product I've bought.

Appreciate your review, however this is still the best high chair I’ve ever seen. I’ve been using Trip Trapp for my son since he was born & still using it. It’s very sturdy, which is so useful for a super active child. We don’t find the tray an issue at all. My son sits on it very comfortably and the great thing is we can adjust the height of foot rest as he grows. The design is so compact and doesn’t take a lot of space in your house (fits perfectly under our kitchen bar), while the other cheaper high chairs are pretty bulky.

Love the honest review. The chair was actually designed to be used without the tray, and is meant to pull up right to the adult table. Most reviews I’ve seen with the tray are mixed, but most people who pull right up to the table seem happier with it.

I LOVE the Tripp Trapp when your kid is old enough to sit in it without the baby set. It fits perfectly under the table (hate big chairs that take up space), it's easy to adjust both seat and footrest height, it's easy to clean and sturdy. Will last a loong time! I have no experience with the baby accessories though, but just wanted to give back some to the Tripp Trapp after the harsh reviews here. It is great = when you kid is a little older!

Great review! Thanks for the tip about putting the tray back in. First time mom, I have the Stokke Tripp Trapp & I absolutely love it! Yes it’s expensive but it’s one of the best on the market, especially from an ergonomic perspective. Also mine came with the complete baby set (cushions, tray, etc)

I couldn't agree more about the negative aspects of this chair...Initially, I was so excited when I discovered the Tripp Trapp chair. Through research online, it appeared to be the chair that my son could use for many years. When I saw the price tag, I thought it justified if it was a chair that fit the needs of a growing child over many years. While optimistic at first, I was quickly disappointed. The chair was time consuming to put together, and despite following the customer service rep's directions to loosen the screws, sit in the chair, then retighten, it continues to be wobbly. Additionally, my 15-month-old continues to find the chair uncomfortable. He cries often when he knows I am about to put him in it as the space he has to fit through is awkward and too slim even for his tall and lean frame. We have tried the padded seat on and off, the plastic backing on and off, the padded backing on and off, but the chair is still uncomfortable. Further, it is not easy to clean...the table attachment is too big for the dishwasher and even our oversized kitchen sink. We have to clean out the sink of dishes before we attempt to rinse off the table attachment. While the seat and foot rest do wipe off easily, they both have cervices which are difficult to clean as the foot rest is hard to remove. Other pain points are that the seat straps collect food material and are virtually impossible to remove for cleaning, and the floor rests ("feet") continually slip off. Geez, what a pain. I am just so disappointed in the product and embarrassed that I spent so much money on it. Every single time we use it, I am disgusted on the money I wasted. It is difficult too because we have friends and family who come over, and they all remark at how uncomfortable it is for our son and difficult it is to use. We started using the chair when our son was 6-months-old; I told myself to give it some time--maybe he just needed to get used to it--maybe I just needed to learn how to better clean it. At the end of the day, of all the baby products/equipment/furniture I've bought for my son (our first baby), this product has to be the most disappointing value for the money. Never again will I take a leap on an expensive item simply because the age of the company, the marketing of longevity, and website ratings. I can understand now why the product was not returnable after opening.

Rosario Martinez we have it and to be honest we leave the tray on and just wipe it down. But even if you were to take the tray off, put it on before putting your child in because it doesn't make it any easier putting them in without the tray - same amount of clearance for their feet which we've never had issue with

Great review. I regret buying this chair - I don't know how you managed to clip the tray on and off so easily! Mine is pretty much stuck half-on and half-off. Even my husband can't undo it. The seat cushion wouldn't stay fitted so that's in the trash now. The main plus is that it's nice and heavy so baby can't rock it over and the fact that you can use it as a chair for years afterwards.

Thank you for your honest reviews, especially the heads up about the finger pinching. Just bought this chair and wished I had seen your video first. Wouldn’t recommend the chair. You put it clearly, too difficult to put baby in and take out through such tight leg space. Feel like I would hurt baby’s legs. Going to try to return it or donate this item.

I am actually pretty satisfied with mine but I’m wondering if anyone else who also has this high chair noticed the white tray to sort of attach at an angle. My tray is slightly slanted forward which causes the food to fall forward at times. I have only had mine for a few weeks but I’m wondering if this is normal or just a defected tray.

Kind of wasn't a review. The reason the space is tighter than other high chairs is to optimize position of the developing child. A good high chair should not have so much space in the seat area that it allows baby to slouch or contort in the chair. Perhaps you should have researched why the tripp trapp is designed that way before purchasing and making a "review"

I bought the chair and accessories soon after my granddaughter was born. She is nearly 9 years old now. We sat her at the family dining table from the beginning, great for communication and life-skills! We did not buy the tray. Always put the reins on the child before lifting him/her into the chair, then hook the links at the side - EASY! :) I LOVE the chair!

Thanks for posting this... just wondering if your table there is standard height or 'bar height?' I'm thinking of getting the chair but our table is taller than the avg. so it may defeat the purpose.
@babyjulius4147
@babyjulius4147 7 лет назад
+Mandy Werner if ur table is taller then average I wouldn't buy this high chair. Our table was higher then avg and we eventually got rid of it to get a standard size. You also have the option to get a chair that clips onto the table edges. Those work perfectly too.
@babyjulius4147
@babyjulius4147 7 лет назад
+Mandy Werner we have a bar height table. My advise would be to not get the stokee high chair or get a new avg height kitchen table. We got a new avg height table cause with bar height he can't really sit w is. Also after having our avg height table we can now all eat together. So much better

Something about the added table. You are supposed to put the child at the kitchen table with you. The table that you add on was an added addition. It was never meant to be used away from the kitchen table. The other high chairs the table that's on it usually doesn't pull right up to the table (I know IKEA highchair does, but I hate it because of its wide footprint. I constantly trip one my friends IKEA highchair). Your child is kind of in his own world when you eat at the table. I love my Stokke high chair. I got 2 of these chairs with all the accessories for $150. Yes it was used, but so what. One of my high chairs has the new plastic bar and the older one has is wood bar with a small leather strap. The new plastic bar does make it difficult to get your child in and out of the chair. Our first chair had the old style. When my second kid came along I eventually took off the plastic bar and replaced it with the wood bar. What I love about the chair is I never ever have to buy a chair that's for their height. It is ergonomically correct to have both feet on the ground while sitting. Adult chairs don't do this for children.

I don't think you understand the concept behind the Tripp Trapp. It's not like a conventional high chair, you're meant to have them sit with you at the table. The foot plate should come out easily and be adjusted accordingly. No need to undo screws as you explained. And a BIG plus, its wood so much better than plastic trash that every other high chair is made of.

Here's the truth: This chair is the absolute nightmare. Ever try removing the straps to clean them? (Hint: chainsaw optional) How about the fact that the tray/harness assembly only attaches to the highest seat level notch/setting? (If you expect your baby to grow vertically, you might want to reconsider this imaginative feature.) And for the love of God do not make the mistake of removing the tray/harness assembly unless you enjoy recalling every curse-word you've heard since 3rd grade while you literally wrestle on the floor with an inanimate object to put it back on. In an odd way my hat is off to the mysterious sect of Scandinavian demons behind this monstrosity. They didn't create an innocent looking high-chair so much as a focal point for every last drop of your frustration with 2020.

Or just a dad thats not used to the product....it takes practice to put a baby in a babystol no matter what kind....cuz like yeah babies fuzz and do stuff and don't wanna help cuz they don't wanna sit or don't get the idea of helping. About putting the tray in after and qushing fingers.... Still it is your own fault for not putting the tray before the baby. Stokke can only do so much and its up to you to read instructions and also keep your own baby safe. But its good you learned...even if it took 2 turns. Very expensive product and you have to buy a bunch of assecories for it like babybelt etc. But it also holds really good quality and lasts for years, several kids. And then you can even sell it for a bit of cash. I bought all my parts incl the intire chair 2nd hand, hell of diff in price. Highly recomend since they are gonna dent and scratch it anyways and you save money....and still can sell after.
