Stolen bike is recovered: replacing the ignition barrel and locks 

Hey mate, I just bought a roadworthy 2005 strom 650, with a busted ignition. You’ve made this job much easier for me! I was going to drill out the security screws on the ignition haha, as most tutorials show. Instead, I went to bunnings and grabbed that exact Torx bit, 5 min job with a ratchet! Now I’ll be able to enjoy this 650 I bought for $900! Only difference is the thieves that tried to steal this one had angle cut most of the “barrel holder” part of the triple clamp, then fled after botching it+key barrel. So will get a triple clamp with key set. TYSM for documenting this well!

I just replaced the 3 locksets on my son's SV650S last week. After 2 locksets later,... (I ordered the wrong one first.) The wrong one had 6 wire plug and the correct one has 4 wires. It feels really good not having to wiggle and jiggle the ignit key to get in to turn.

G'Day Craigo , may those thief buggers burn in flames "down below ".However I wish to thank you for your determination to make sure your "beloved V Strom" rides again! 10 out of 10 for the " will not the bastards win " category.I have , recently purchased a DL 650 A 2012 with some extras , already on it, hence anything associated with a solid bike like that is of interest ,m for sure, aso keep on it bloke.These words come from the hills area Perth ,WA. So much wanna visit the apple isle as a good mate of mine is a "devil" type , originally hails from Hobart area. Have now subscribed to " watch " other "adventures of Craigo and Offspring.I really think you have a good opportunity to keep us posted on all things Tassie / Motorbike wise etc.Might get there this year, but gotta "sell a kidney" to raise the funds ( joke of course.Eugene ( a Scot , lucky enuff to live in OZ.

Hi i G'day Craigo do following thanks you but i got one spare red wire coming from motorbike (2 red wires coming from motobike are them have to be conneted to the one red amazon ignition barrel wire?)thank you

How did you know what ECU ect colours were what coming from your motorcycle

Hi G'day Craigo in video original ignition barrel got 2 red wires and amazon one got just only one red wire. So amazon ignition barrel one red wire has to be connected to two red wires?thanks

how much did it cost to get the ignition barrel and key cost?

Why not just trace the connection box and save so meany connections and risk problems in the future

How did you get the bars out of the lock position with out the key?
