Whatever his feelings toward the role (and we don’t know), George Reeves was too professional not to give his best. I’m not a fan of most of these colour episodes but even here, he conveys a warmth, sincerity, and reassuring manner perfect for Superman. And his natural charm and presence made him the best Clark Kent. By the way, this take-off was damn good! Full disclosure: the first year (1951) is my favourite!
There is a word that I can't remember right now, but it describes George and his relaxed personality. He would have done so well nowdays. Very much another Henri Cavill.
Thol (Sy) Simonson was far ahead of everyone else when it came to special effects and that music still sends a shiver up my spine every time I hear it.
I wonder if "Haley's Circus" was a reference to Batman. That's the name of the circus that Dick Grayson and his family performed at before he became Robin.
Far from the days of thumping crooks and telling it like it is. The later episodes were wishy washy and 'feel good' stuff. Almost WOKE before it's time. Still I'm a huge fan of all the years .... just love the earlier ones.
