I just speak for myself as a 20 year active duty veteran/retiree. If you're out there trying to get some money for food - that is not worth challenging somebody in my opinion. Just give them some spare change or leave them alone. It is different they were pretending to be special ops, or a war hero, or were defrauding the government for benefits. And who knows? Maybe they are veterans. I haven't worn dog tags since I served 14 years ago. I have a retired military ID, but most veterans have no ID don't carry one. There are also a lot of veterans that have bad paper, they served but were discharged with less than honorable circumstances - there are many different stories and reasons - and maybe they didnt serve at all - and if all they are trying to do is get some change to get a meal or get their next fix - that is on them. I personally am not offended. Let them be. Save your energy and go after people who really are defrauding the government and others into getting real benefits they don't deserve (not panhandlers)
The first question I always ask anyone like them is “what was the name of your CO in basic training”? If they stumble and stutter, they are full of S. Every single soldier, marine and airman knows it immediately.

They lost EVERYTHING in the fire...except for the Army jacket. Was he in the habit of wearing military garb at all times? He had it on when his house burned down?
American tax dollars go to the military instead of for any social programs that would benefit society at large and lead to keeping people off the streets begging like this, dressing up in military garb is one way for these people to earn a meal. You're just breathing heavily while taking offense on your fathers behalf (?) at these people trying to survive day to day.
Perhaps you should have asked them what there MOS was while they were in the service, more than likely they wouldn't even know what it meant & that would tell you everything & show there true colors & I well bet that it's not RED WHITE & BLUE 🇺🇸
I don't need your permission, look at the channel and what I do do for the homeless people. Maybe get off your ass and spend your own money to feed and cloth them. Then have a opinion!!!!
First of all, you have to do something to expose the stolen valor, not be like "hmmm, I don't know about that." That's not exposing anything, even though you're probably right. And I don't know, it's kinda hard to look good hassling beggars.
I love stolen valor, videos, watch them all the time, and this, even if it is stolen, valor, feels scummy. 😢. There’s so many good stolen valor callouts. Why fuck with the poor homeless people begging for pocket change in the rain? It’s not a big enough deal to kick another American citizen while they’re clearly already down. Remember, when we were little kids, people would always teach to pick on someone your own size, otherwise, you’re a bully? You’re a bully man.
