very interesting video. You have explained many of these principles in building before, but that one really helped to put it in perspective, specifically the double wall construction and how it wears over time.

Patience is definitely required when working with stone built walls and you both have plenty of that.👍👍 I'm well acquainted with stone built walls here in Shetland.

That was fascinating! I had no idea about the double wall construction with large stones reaching through from side to side. You certainly are honoring the history of your newly adopted land.

Really enjoyed that look at the techniques, ta for that 😀…we have a 1933 stone built semi and I wish they’d used lime on the build..we’re always having bother on the gable end wall as it can’t breathe of course sigh..ps, hydrated lime is also great for your brassicas, they love a bit of lime in the soil before planting (lowers the acidity)…it’s clever stuff lime 😀👍…see you Sunday, Mark

Great progress on so many stone walls! Just wondering if you'd considered rounding the 2 top corners of the steel wood oven door to match the arch shape? Perhaps the idea is not feasible, but I admire that arch. Thanks for your videos, cheers.

Is there a reason that you only mix a small amount at one time ?
@FincaLife
@FincaLife 10 месяцев назад
Mainly because it takes so long to use even a small mix. Even the small mixes we use can start to dry up and need knocking back.
