Recently made a short edit regarding pro wrestlers defending/standing up for CM Punk: ru-vid.com1kNUsdqoEsk?feature=share It'll be cool if y'all can give it a view or help this channel grow by checking out my other vids that I've been dropping since a few weeks if time permits... Thanks y'all!
It always saddened me that Punk came along during the wrong era. As great and fun as he was, his fire was completely wasted in the PG Cena era of WWE. He would've been amazing back in the Stone Cold Attitude Era. Would've been crazy cool to see those two feud and work together. Two of the very best to ever do it.
@@nigeldean3726 Agreed. He was definitely one of the few guys worth watching during that time. His promo segments alone got me to keep tuning in each week. Not just the famous pipe bomb, but his contract signing with Vince, his feuds where he told HHH and Cena basically what fans wished they could say to them. He made the PG era tolerable because he was basically the voice for us fans that were fed up with it and criticized all the things about it that we as fans said even though we were ignored by Vince and WWE brass. He gave us a voice and without it I think I would not have watched WWE at that time. Ironically, what people loved about him shooting and telling the truth then, they’re now criticizing him for at AEW. I applaud him for it still and hope he never changes.
Cm punk would not have lasted in the attitude era. He worked so well in the PG era because he stood out in a crowd of silly gimmicks. The attitude era was full of big men with charisma that people would’ve paid thousands to see. Punk, actually, got to the top at the most perfect time for his size and abilities
@@coolbreeze756 Gotta disagree. If someone like Jericho was able to get over during that time, I see absolutely no reason why Punk wouldn’t have. There were guys his size that were major stars in that era. HBK also comes to mind. Phil’s promo skills and wrestling psychology would work in any era imo.
It's a damn shame that a match between these two never came to fruition. Two seemingly polar opposites (Steve is a proud beer drinker, Punk is straight-edge and proud of it), but behind the scenes, they both knew their worth, worked like hell to prove said worth, and both held strong to their convictions. No surprise to me that Steve liked Phil. Pretty sure Steve saw Phil's vigor and remembered the drive he had coming into WWE, and he loved that.
Cm Punk is a Man who generally loves Pro Wrestling and Maybe he had some bad times but Man he is just hated for being honest Wish nothing but the best of Cm punk
All this drama around him and the media scrum is bullshit, not the first time there is heat backstage and wont be the last time. Must of the biggest star had heat, they just went over it and transform it into business opportunity. But with cancel culture and internet today, every single thing can become a a tragedy. That what we are witnessing now with the media scrum. Fuk it, good for Punk for speaking his mind, i'm backing him 100%
@@brycebirkinbine4119 IM glad im not the only one who thinks so, i was watching it and from start to finish he was being true to himself. it's not like this came out of NOWHERE. biggest lesson i learned growing up is you cant tell someone how to react. if you push someone and they shoot you could they have handled it better? 100% but...why'd you even push em tho
@@PHANTOMKILLERX1 With everything just learned and hearing that Cornette podcast, Punk quite literally worked with children. Doesn’t go to everybody, Samoa Joe, Wardlow, MJF, Keith, Britt, Adam Cole, all of BPCC, Thunder Rosa, and hell even Kenny know how to conduct themselves and I’m sure that list can be extended a ton (Adam Page and Swerve and Toni Storm can be added to that) It’s mostly the Young Bucks and Jericho just having a loud mouth.
They're 2 of my favorite wrestlers but holy hell Punk isn't in the same galaxy in terms of in-ring skill. Same as Bret isn't anywhere near Punk's mic skills.
It's a shame that they didn't go for this back in 2013. That was the perfect time. Both of them are so much older, slower, and at risk of injury now. Even if they could make it happen as a one-time thing while Punk is under AEW contract idk if I wanna see it.
Its certainly possible now, thats for sure, dont know about Stone Colds capabilities though, isnt he like 350 years old now? I doubt he could manage such a fight. (Ill say anything to push him into it).
This match would had being an epic one. It’s very disappointing it never got to happen and most likely will never happen. This is just another dream match that we will never get to see. 😢😂
@@MM-qi5mk depends if they choose to rely on something else than acrobatics and athleticism to make this match a good one. It could be unstoppable force vs unmovable object until one of them makes a big mistake, stunner/GTS, 1-2-3
@@weneedhim526 have you seen how Stone Cold fared during his match against Kevin Owens ? Sure it wasn't prime SCSA, but for a man who was 57 at the moment it was incredible.
Stone Cold putting on the black boots, black trunks, and black wrist tape to come back and wrestle punk for ONE MORE REAL match. I would pay triple for a WrestleMania. And I ain't watched a WrestleMania since WM 20.
I dont want to hype it up too much but dam if Punk doesnt win the Rumble and fight Rollins at Mania, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Best in the World CM Punk 😢 itd be glorious 😊
It's a match that's got to happen if they want the value of WWE to be at its peak for a sale, and really they need a big match like this one to actually sell Wrestlemania that has nothing of value to it at the moment. It's also not that hard of a match to build as if they built it as they did with Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels, both men being responsible for getting each other eliminated from the Royal Rumble, and the weeks following you have back and forth between the two prior to Wrestlemania, with the two then going at it at Mania where I'd have CM Punk win by turning heel on Austin, then you have heel CM Punk go on a tare to eventually capture gold which could then be used to push a chasing babyface to eventually thwart Punk of the gold, hopefully making a star out of that babyface.
That's a match that would set numbers on fire. Especially if the did a few weeks building hype. Austin could easily do another match. As could Punk obviously. Vince and Trips would love the payday. Night one mania closer. Not "the main event" but still worthy of a high slot.
the pro wrestling deserve this match if it not in wwe i will buy a 10000 dollar ticket even if it happened in independant wrestling company for 10 minutes i want to see this match
Didn’t you see those two massive diagonal wrinkles that start under his nostrils and end at the top of his lips. He never had those while he was wrestling. He is ageing. Well, but make no mistake he his ageing
Good video and good job at letting the people involved do the talking. It's better that way than the gossip group that congregates every time cm punk farts now a days in wrestling news.
Jeez, ... listening to all the apologists for that daycare center that is AEW, you'd think that everyone in all of pro wrestling hates CM Punk. And yet I keep seeing video after video drop of wrestling legends and WWE Hall of Famers talking about how they respect Punk, loved working with him, and/or consider him a good friend. 🤔
I wouldn't say with ease; he definitely had assistance with the bigger guys and I seem to remember him fucking up Kane's face with one years back. He's not a powerhouse, but he is stronger than he looks.
Under the circumstance, if Punk really wanted a match with Austin, it could be done. I believe he would probably take less money for one match with Austin at wrestlemania
@@hmsp7799 I don't see Austin signing a short term deal contract with AEW, just because he said hell always be a WWE guy. And I don't think AEW could advertise it as well as WWE could. That's just my opinion though.
WWE has the money and Punk would return if it means a match with Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania, as well as being able to continue doing business that he was doing within AEW in a more professional environment that WWE desperately needs to create actual drawing stars that Punk proved he can create when at the top, and reaching behind him to elevate people to his level for them to eventually take over from him.
Wrestlemania 40 hopefully. I legitimately think Punk still wants to wrestle and after this bullshit with the children at AEW (sad to say that because there is so much talent there and people who deserve nothing but the best) but you know Punk would want to fuck with em a little bit, and ya know, Hunter would like to fuck with them too we all know it. Makes money, makes fans happy, win-win
In my opinion, this was a good match up 10 years ago, but now not so much, If punk beats Austin now in 2024, he just beat the old man that used to be stone cold, it doesn’t really put punk over as much now.
I think punk should retire Austin fs. I think Cena should have retired undertaker, now he should retire rock. I think cena, orton , punk , and lesnar alongside guys like rey and them dont have long left. And guys like LA knight are already older and need to be looked at as Worthy. Wwe has 5 years left with the legends and needs to act ASAP. On building their future brand. My opinion i would build the future based on seth roman and bring mox back. Then you have theory , dirty dom, carmelo hayes , cody and drew arent very old , boom
Only two wrestling matches left in CM Punk's career... Both he loses. Punk returns to WWE, wins Royal Rumble. Turns down title shot as direct snub, offers open challenge - out walks Austin. Punk vs Austin at Wrestlemania. WWE WINS! Few years down the line. MJF debuts at Royal Rumble, gets the last two but loses. Pissed off, he offers open challenge - out walks Punk. Punk vs MJF at Wrestlemania. MJF headline star, WWE WINS! Punk's legacy confirmed.
Well at least that'd be a great way for Austin to finish things off instead of losing against Cena or Orton. The Punk feud stands out due to the already established rivalry and the vast potential of promo battles.
Imagine Punk vs Randy Savage Punk vs Michaels Punk vs Angle Punk vs Austin Punk Vs Curt Henning Punk vs Scott hall Punk vs Jake Roberts (omg the promos) Punk vs steamboat Punk Vs Rick Rude Punk vs Brett Hart Punk Vs Big poppa pump. Yep def born in the wrong era!! Def stuck in the wrong era
Lol fair enough m8 you have a point there. That was obviously the only clip from this edit that was fan-made. However, if you do search it up on RU-vid - the exact same SCSA Zack Wylde video has been redesigned as a Stone Cold shoots on CM Punk vid which has garnered more views than the former. I thought it was pretty hilarious since it syncs well which is why I added it here. If it offends you, I'm sorry.
