I’m guessing you missed the pop Cody Rhodes got tonight lol but it’s cool you’re still horny over the 90s and don’t wanna see anything else lol not everyone is still living in the 90s though
People that didn’t see what it was like seeing this man every week at his peak have no clue how over he was. I shed a tear at this when watching live. Lightning in a fucking bottle
This match tonight made the whole show. Austin went ABOVE and BEYOND any expectations. It was such a beautiful moment, that literally melted my heart. It was like watching a cowboy go back one last time for one last town clean-up. God bless him John 3:16 style
This is why Stone Cold was the King of the Attitude Era(he was the top dog among The Rock, The Undertaker, HHH and Mick Foley) and an icon during the Ruthless Aggression Era and a legend in the current day and ever time you hear the glass break that is when the crowd comes alive for that is what the feeling that they brought for they were larger then life.
It's funny the glass breaking is my notification on my phone, I can't tell you how many people ask me. Is that stone cold steve austin's glass breaking? When they hear it. The man is a legend, A legend even among legends, He drug the wwf Back from the abyss in 96 and 97. There will never be another Stone cold Steve Austin.
@@fatredditmod Incorrect for during the AE there were 5 kings of that era starting with SCSA, Rock, Undertaker, HHH and Mick Foley. Undertaker was on their level due to his presence alone and his streak that ended in the worst way possible and is still one of the worst decisions that WWE made.
Haven't watched WWE in over 10 years but had to check out stone cold my hero of the attitude era and it didn't disappoint. Also props to Kevin Owens for playing a great heel and bumping like hell for Austin
U your not alone it's been over 15 years for me I had to see my guy😅 stone cold is the wrestler that made me love sports entertainment after him and the rock were done I stopped watching not to long afterwards jus wasn't the same 💯
I was watching this on Peacock and my little nephew was like “Why are you just holding your two hands up in the air Uncle Kyle?” I thought about giving him a stunner for two seconds lol then I just told him “because this is the man that made wrestling what it is today, AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE!!”
*glass shatters* Oh YEAH!! It's AUSTIN! STONE COLD! The Hometown Rattlesnake is here, Business has JUST picked up, and By GOD Stone Cold is here to whoop another man's ass!
I missed my boy, Austin. Thank you for coming back one last time Steve. You owe us nothing and yet here you are, entertaining the people. Stone Cold will always be my gold standard!
@Carlos Garcia that would be incredible and I'd totally watch if Stone Cold comes back. Hope the Rock comes back too. Wouldn't mind seeing them team up or helping each other in some way. I'd lose my shit
i held my breath when he took that suplex on the floor and stunner but man austin was absolutely beyond expectations and gifted us this gem. i’m so glad he worked an in ring style that would allow him to employ it even at his current age without looking too old. i was a lil bit sad not to see a classic lou thesz press though 😅
@@IkilledColMustard 100% all the credit in the world goes to Kevin Owens. handling this responsibility solidified him being a top 2-3 worker in the business and perhaps the safest worker
I'm from Philadelphia and I've been in some LOUD Stadiums and Arenas for events that made my ears ring. When Steve returned from his neck injury back in the day it was at UNFORGIVEN in Philly and I was there. I've NEVER heard a louder pop for anything in my life then the moment that glass broke after his year long absence. I DID IT FOR DA ROCK.
When I think of the term living legend this guy is the first person that comes to mind. Am absolute god to me throughout my youth and one of the most entertaining people ever What a guy
Stone Cold is the Goat and there will never be anybody bigger, I grew up in the 80s and idolised Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan was the WWF back then and carried the company into the mainstream, I never could imagine that I would see another Wrestler be as big as what Hulk Hogan was. Then Stone Cold walked up to the ramp, after winning King Of The Ring and uttered the 3:16 phrase. Then from that moment Wrestling was forever changed, Stone Cold between between 1997 - 2003 was something I will always treasure and be thankful to witness. He become my all time favourite, which when I idolised Hogan I would never of imagined I would choose someone over him. Stone Cold will rightly be considered the greatest of all time, Vince Mcmahon, Cena, Ric Flair and The Rock all said Stone Cold is the greatest and they are right. He is the biggest ever draw, he would get the biggest pops, his 3 matches with the Rock at Wrestlemania were legendary. He made everybody want to watch Wrestling back then and if it wasn't for Stone Cold, Vince and the WWF would of lost the Monday Night Wars with WCW. When Stone Cold retired, the was a massive void left in the WWE and it has never recovered. Everytime Stone Cold makes an appearance he gets huge pops even today, he is so missed but at the same time everybody is so thankful for what he did. I was totally shocked last night, that we got to see him in a full match. I never ever thought that would ever happen, he did that for the Fans. He would never of just did that for the sake of it and he would never of done that Match if he couldn't pull it off. He retired and stayed retired because he knew he couldn't Wrestle like he did and he was too badly injured, so to have the knees shot like his, bad back and a messed up neck, for him to wrestle was just astonishing. Not only that but to be out the ring for 19 years and at the age of 57, to fight like he did was incredible. Look at someone like Goldberg a few years back, he has no injury problems but looked terrible in matches. The likes of Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and even the Undertaker towards the end were struggling to pull matches off. Stone Cold last night did pull it off and looked good and believable. I was even more shocked when he tooks some bumps, I never expected him to take bumps espicially on the concrete. I am just glad that the younger fans got to see him in action, so many people would of seen old video's of him back in the day. Now they got to see him for real last night. he is just the greatest of all time. For me my top 5 of all time based on popularity, how they could draw money, the crowds reaction and how big they got and were they took the business. It would be in this order, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, The Undertaker and Bret Hart. I include Bret Hart as I saw him growing up and he was brilliant and the crowd loved him, it was Bret Hart who made sure we got the Rock and Stone Cold. He gave them the push and said to Vince these two are going to be big stars, then you had HBK and Triple H trying to sabotage The Rock and Stone Colds rise in the WWF. HBK wasn't going to put Stone Cold over at Wrestlemania, Undertaker made sure he did. HBK and Triple H thought getting rid of Bret Hart would mean they would be the main guys, then they saw Stone Cold and The Rock come along. They tried to stop them two making it but they couldn't, so thank you Bret Hart. Also not just because of that, Bret Hart was for me in the top 5 of all time, just edging out Cena and Kurt Angle.
Hogan ruined his legacy in someways similar to Flair. Austin and Rock today are much more respected compared to them. 80s Hogan was huge and nwo Hogan was big also but Austin's peak prob surpasses 80s Hogan where Hogan was at his most popular. Rock is def in the conversation also as in 2000 he got to Austin level as a draw and popularity when Austin was out injured.
Nobody surpass Hogan. We can all have different favorites, but nobody did what Hogan did. The two wrestling booms are because of him. Hogan was both heel and face and it changed wrestling. People can have opinions and different tastes, but Hogan made wrestling and changed wrestling with the biggest heel turn of all time. People can like Taker, Austin, Rock, etc...and they're all great. But just look at Hogan facing Rock, and Hogan is heel.
@@Krillep Hogan is a scrub lol his matches aren't even good... he sucks in ring and is totally one dimensional. Who cares look at him at the WM that just passed he got booed. You can't label someone the goat who now gets boo'd just for entering a wwe stadium. Hogan ruined his legacy
@@beingofinconceivablehorror1854 Who cares about your opinon? Stone Cold was one-dimensional as well. Stunner, kick, beers. It doesn't matter. People got emotional invested. You talk about ruining legacy. If Stone Cold lived under this era with all the scandals and wifebeating and everything that have come througuh early in the 2000's he would be doomed and ruined as well. You can sit there and hate on a guy that made this sport to a global phenomena. But that only reflects you as a person.
it was supposed to be all about roman vs brock. and Austin completely stole this wrestlemania and he looked like a million bucks. thank WWE, Owens, and Austin for this.
Geez I haven’t watched wrestling since mid 2000’s but this was awesome!!! My mom actually got back into wrestling with me during the Attitude Era. We’d watched during the Hogan years and before that, old Georgia Championship Wrestling. Love Stone Cold!! I can’t believe he can’t give the middle finger anymore. 🤨
This by far has to be the highlight of wrestlemania38 2022 awesome to see stone cold Steve Austin back after 19 years & even though mother time has caught up with Austin he still kicked K.O ass in
stone cold one of the greats ive even heard some people say he was as big a star as hulk hogan i dont know about that but he surely is one of the greats
Yeah it was interedting to see how slow and stiff he moved but how good he still made ot look...can you imagine how much pain he is in today lol....also kevin too...bc you know stone cold gave him some hard ass shots
I actually agree with WWE bringing in old talent and burying younger talent to put them over… but it’s *Stone Cold Steve Austin’s* first match in 19 years and wasn’t put in the title scene. KO isn’t hurt by losing to _Stone Cold_ of all people. This match was fine.
Kind of sad that everyone was more worried about taking a video clip with their phones. Part of the reason why huge pops in the late nineties were deafening is that no one had a cell phone to distract them from losing their shit when a huge star came out or there was a badass match happening.
