Hello and thank you for your video. what's the distance you open the dividers on in order to mark the future holes ? and also, are you using carbide burs in this video? thank you again :)
@Capariso
@Capariso 16 дней назад
Hello, the distance depends on the diameter of the stone and the type of setting, I always open the scroll with a margin of 0.05mm for example if the diameter of the stone is 1.65mm then you need to open the scroll to 1.70mm. As for tools, the best carbide tools are.

how do you know how far to drill down ?
@Capariso
@Capariso 7 месяцев назад
Determining the drilling depth for diamond setting in jewelry depends on several factors, including the type of, size and type of the diamond, and construction requirements. Typically, the depth is calculated to securely hold the diamond without risking detachment or damage. It's also important to consider potential obstacles under the surface

Hi, The circumference of the circle is 3.3 mm? If the size of the stone is 1.65
@Capariso
@Capariso 8 месяцев назад
It is necessary to make with a reserve, a little more than the diameter of the stone, in my case the stones are 1.65mm in diameter, so I open the circle at 1.70 ~ 1.75mm so the diameter of the circle turns out to be 3.40 ~ 3.50mm.

Thanks so much for sharing this is great info! I am a professional hand engraver, and im just getting into stone setting. I was wondering, when you score the design on the metal with the dividers, how do you measure where to set your dividers for the proper width? Do you just set them the same size as the stone? Maybe a complex question, but i thought i would ask anyways. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to seeing more!
