Can I just say how glad I am to have found this channel? For once, RU-vid recommended something good. I love the level of depth you two go into discussing every song and being open minded about it. Please watch the video because they sing in Maori which is the language of nz. Alright, so The House of Gold and Bones parts 1&2 are a double concept album, and there is a comic series that goes a long with it. You really need to listen to the albums as a whole to understand the story.

I have to admit I am slowly getting used to watching your videos and I wasn't expecting that. ^_^ Would you mind throwing some Sabaton on? "Uprising" is a great one, getting teary eyed every time I listen. Official video definitely adds to the experience.

You definitely need to listen to the two albums that make up House of Gold and Bones....it's a concept album and it's hard to take a track from the middle of one of the albums without the reference of the other tracks. It is an amazing piece of work in its totality.

Actually Vin.. There were two Slipknot members in Stone Sour... Corey Taylor and Jim Root, a guitarist.. But I heard somewhere Jim left or got fired or something, but both are still in Slipknot from what I understand.

Not just Corey but Jim is also in it. It shows him playing at a concert with them in the official music video to Tired.

This album goes along with a reading of the comic written to go with the double album release. It's so worth to listen while reading it through!

Stone sour-absolute zero

I had been listening to Slipknot for about a year before I jumped on Stone Sour, one of the best things I ever did. Regarding the meaning of this song, remember that it's part of a double concept album, so there's an entire story around it that you can't get from just listening to this song alone. I still sometimes struggle to pinpoint specific topics of the House Of Gold And Bones to a specific song. Anyways, how about some Rammstein? You could start with some oldschool stuff, like "Du riechst so gut". Or you could go for "Mein Teil", there's a really interesting story behind it, trust me. "Mutter" would be great too, though that would probably turn into a longer video, because of the meaning of the song. There should be translations into english for all of these songs somewhere. If you can't find any, I'd offer to translate them myself though. ^^ Keep doing good work!

Y'all need to do MUCH more Stone Sour

Id be so into a video where you guys just go through House of Gold and Bones 1 & 2, start to finish. Also, about it being too short, the reason for that is that a lot of chord progressions, choruses, lyrics, and themes come back again and again throughout the 2 records. If you listen to the albums as one piece it turns this one song into one verse. Its fantastic.

From what I remember the two albums were telling a story and also had the story told through a comic book series but the idea behind the story itself was about someone dealing with maturity.

So this song is from the album "house of gold and bones pt 1" and is actually a themed album. This album and pt 2 are about his life. So if you listen to the entire thing in order, it really gives you an insider view of who Cory Taylor really is

Dark Tranquillity - The Gallery (1995) - Punish My Heaven. - Edenspring. - The Dividing Line. Very heavy but with soft very melodic parts. That album is almost perfect!

Corey Taylor is great. From Stone Sour to Slipknot, I love what he does. My favorite song he does, and one of my favorite songs I’ve ever heard, is the one he did for Sound City with Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters called From Can to Can’t. Powerful.

Jim Root was also in Stone Sour at this point in time and for most of the bands existence. He's not anymore though.

Corey did die twice before his 18th birthday. First time by accidental overdose at a party, the second time on purpose taking a overdose in his room at his grandma's house. And he has been a on/off alcoholic for year's. I believe he did say in a interview that he surfers from Bipolar.
