I have never seen such universal praise as this line up is getting. Even blabbermouth is all the rage about it. When scott was clear headed STP had the greatest front man ever. Ever. Dangerous, sexy, talented, a rebel. Its the biggest shoes to fill and I think Jeff will crush it. What i like best is while, yes, hes singing the same notes as scott, he is not a scott clone. Influenced perhaps (arent we all by those who come before us) but he is his own man using his own pipes. Best of luck, brothers!
wow, This is the first time I've seen a live performance by this guy and besides having a very similar voice to Scott, he also has his mannerisms and a slight resemblance as well.

This is as STP as it gets folks! Dean's fuzzy guitar, Robert's deep bass, Eric's heavy snare, and a singer with swagger. I will always miss Scott but this guy has it!
I got chills, in a good way! They took their time and found the guy that can continue Scott's legacy along with all the other guys in STP. This I can live with. Gives me a teeny tiny hope that the miracle that was Chester Bennington won't EVER be replaced but perhaps there IS someone who can help carry his legacy along with all the LP guys on.
I agree with the last dude. song writing style is similar. and the chemistry on this song sounds great. i like it alot...i was being pessimistic before I heard it...and I can't believe how good a song it is. Keep STP alive and come back hard with the new album. a whole new generation of people need to be introduced to the greatest rock band out of my generation.
saw STP for the very first time with Jeff Gutt live last saturday and HE'S JUST THE PERFECT FIT FOR THE BAND! I said I was missing Scott, but Jeff just brought STP back to life! he's amazing!

Being a guy who saw Jeff coming from no one to a rockstar since he auditioned in the x factor makes me feel awesome. Stone Temple Pilots fans. I don't know how you feel abut him but you truly got a man who loves and respects the genre, sings incredibly awesome and is not gonna take anything for granted ever on the band. You don't get many singers like Jeff nowadays.
The more I listen to him, and going back through his past stuff. YES he has that rememberance of all departed, BUT, He also is unique to himself. NOT like a hired gun. WOW AMAZING TALENT! (btw STP already was!)
Absolutely Love Jeff, his voice is Amazing, he fits in quite perfectly and hes a super hottie! I believe Jeff as a gift from God requested by Scott so their band could continue to play successfully. Everyone should be grateful for happy new beginnings and not be so damn negative about something so Awesome.

He's good, I am happy to see the STP back in action! Love these guys! Though, no one will ever replace Scott, he was amazing! But they have a bright future ahead that's for sure :)
Great choice! Jeff's voice is amazing! It sucks people comparing... Sadly Scott is gone, but now it's a different singer, different vibe. Get over it n move on!They might loose some fans, but I'm sure they will gain a lot of new ones too!

Hells yeah! After many years of struggle Jeff ends up landing with one of my favorite bands in the world. Too bad today's kids won't appreciate but maybe he can throw some youth at the band!
yeah, I have to agree with the others here. If Scott didn't pass away and was clean, this news would have made him relapse. Jeff will still never touch the greatness Scott was though, not even out of an originally thing, I'm saying raw talent/passion/charisma, whatever you want to call it.
More than not he'd just shoot up more... regardless of what "Scott" would be happy with-- this guy embodies the classic STP sound, and hopefully will be able to contribute to new material--- Bon Scott died and ACDC did quite well with Brian Johnson. Puddle of Mudd needs to replace Wes and continue to make new music too. There's more people in these bands than just the lead singer.
I felt warmth in my belly when I heard Still Remains with Jeff, Great guy he is! Fits quite well with the band. I was lucky enough to see Chester live two months before he passed away, yet unfortunately didn't get the same chance with Scott... Would love to hear more new stuff and eventually see them on tour.
FUCK YEAH. Great to have these guys back in the saddle. New singer has a great tone. All the best guys, these songs need to be heard all over again. Can't wait to see live work again.
I miss Scott and I always will. That being said, namechangers, Jeff's haters: fuck offf!!! This proves Jeff is the best frontman they could've gotten. He can carry Scott's legacy on his shoulders and create new music with these guys keeping the essence of STP alive, that's what really matters. I'm really looking forward to the new album.
Keeping a legacy alive, that's all STP can do. Their time has passed, and with this new singer I doubt they'll go any further. And that's the truth. Nothing against Gutt, he rocks.
I loved STP. I adored Scott Weiland. I watched this video with my eyes rolling before I hit play. I have to give credit where it's due. This new front man is an amazing fit. I was so ready to hate him, mostly out of loyalty to Scott I think. I really love this new song too. I never in a million years thought I would be excited about STP again. But, I am so glad that I was wrong. The band was always solid, and still is. RIP Scotty, we will never forget. Rock on Jeff, true fans are excited that STP is back!
How can you say their time has passed when people still listen to them, their new material gets lots of views here on RU-vid, and they seem to have found a great front man that will allow them to carry on and make even more great music? With all the shite "music" being made today, it is great to see that bands from back when music wasn't something you created on a Mac in your parents' living room are still rockin' and stayin' true to music.

You can tell that the band is so happy with him and are so happy to be back on stage. You can see it in their playing and their faces. Good on them and much success to them all!!!
You can see and hear the ease in Jeff in this song compared to the old stuff. He smashed all of them, but honoring that legacy has to be in the back of his mind all the time. I'm pretty excited to hear the rest of the new stuff coming down the pike.

@@fernandoemilioockrassamora4508 Chester was a tenor, his voice in the lower baritone range was too thin and lacked power and richness for the stp songs that were written for Scotts voice, Jeff has a similar mid range voice like Scott had although not as much rasp but is a better fit then Chester was.
Sounds awesome! STP will always hold a special place in my heart. My uncle took to me to Mohawk Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1994 to my first concert. I saw Butthole Surfers & STP. It was amazing 😈
