I lost my brother to a cocaine laced with fentanyl overdose this past spring. This song reminds me of him a great deal, he was a country music fan and would have hated this song. The intro has a country feel to it and the subject matter is very poignant. His birthday was yesterday, love you Mike, see you on the other side.
Met these guys in Nashville bout eight years ago while my wife was 9 months pregnant Pepper and Jimmy saw to it that she was front row and specifically asked security to keep her safe ....a true class act ... our daughter was born the following week
A bout of deep depression. Can't seem to move it forward. My lying eyes lie awake. Not sure what I am after. I never died before. Can't live what happened yesterday. I never stoned the crow, no. Flip through endless stories. A life of hand-written pain. No one can share this hurt that is mine, mine, mine. I never died before. Can't be what happened yesterday. I shouldn't stone the crow, no. Ride on! Same old city, same old pain. No matter how I try, No matter what I say, I'm blamed, I'm shamed, I'm judged unfairly. So now I've died before. It feels as bad as yesterday. I never stoned the crow, no. You too have died before. It's more than less of yesterday. I never stoned the crow, stoned the crow, no, no.
@@Gold_Thorn I didn't say his performance was bad... I am a big fan as well. Try to hear the vocal track and ignore the rest of thw band. He sounds bland and damn near in monotone. Was probably still using at this time?
This was good but "Cemetery Gates" was just simply fucking amazing. It's a combo of Phil from Vulgar and Geoff Tate of Queensryche. You know what I mean.
@The Ninth Heart What am I talking about? Anyway , I think that.."A Bustle in Your Hedgerow" was prolly Phils best "Post Pantera". It explored a lot of elements from the likes of jazz "Lies, I don't know what they mean ,but..." To blues " Learn from this mistake".. And " Where I'm going". Great tracks , even though they don't really fit Phil's style and range.
just stumbled upon down while searching pantera. down live - bury me in smoke has become an all time favorite. lyrics is so good ;) .thought it was a band phil made after pantera but shocked to find out it was a side project he did. found a full down concert from 95 on utube, just cool as hell :D
Yep mee too. I was 12 or 13 and this and Far Beyond Driven were my teens. Got tickets last week to see the "new" PanterA in March here in Brisbane Australia can't wait but would love to see Down that would be sick
@@mullerb.i.a8545I’m Gen z and I’m seeing the Pantera tribute in 10 days, first leg of 2024 tour I’m so hyped, I know it won’t be the same without dime but I want to hear Pantera on big speakers so badly
@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd Well I'm sure you will love it. I never got to see them when Dime and Vinnie were still here. Got my tickets for Knotfest here in Brisbane Australia in March and I'm so excited not only PanterA but Disturbed and Lamb Of God plus a heap of other bands. Where are you seeing them?
@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd yeah they haven't announced a sideshow for just PanterA. I thought for sure they would play their own show but I'm not gonna complain and yeah I was a heroin addict for over 20 years so even if I wanted to go see them when Dime and Vinnie were still here no doubt I would of sold my ticket for a shit. But I've been pretty much clean this last year and it's been sick. I seen Guttermouth, The Exploited and a shit load of local punk bands and I forgot going to shows is honestly better than most drugs. And this year I've got Knotfest sorted then Guttermouth are coming back fucken Alice Cooper is coming and I will go cause I remember his songs from my childhood but yeah this year is gonna be sick for concert's in Australia.🤘😈🦘🇦🇺
@ sarah jayne lee: I couldn't agree more.... I could, and have, listened to it more than a dozen time in a row. However, this version is SO much better visually and sound wise... this guy did an amazing job and more than a thousand more views. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ihUlBCw9t1A.html
Love this song. No matter how I try no matter what I say I'm judged unfairly. I never stoned the crow. I made it through the tough times in my life without a jackpot. This song is open to interpretation to all. Feel it and use it to your advantage

been in love with Phil since the 90s when I was a teenager. I am Phil's biggest fan. I saw him in Fayetteville years ago. And I'm ready to see him again!
The first time I died I asked them to play multiple songs by Phil the man has to many beautiful songs to choose just one if you agree give it a thumbs up my friends!
Hello. I am a simple man, like many of you. I went to a concert in Italy, in Majano, were DOWN played. There was a lot of rain, it was cold. There was a soccer field. I remember one of the craziest night there. I saw them, with loud volume and Grey hair. It has been one of those experiences of a lifetime. Thank you down, I love ya.
I heard a few seconds of the guitar riff walking past a shop two days ago and remembered...sort of. I remembered it was a cool song but not the name, lyrics, or band. I hummed incessantly to Google...nothing. Then just moments ago I googled "bands with music like CoC and vocals like Pantera and here I am. I can sleep now 😅
Song will always remind me of driving around with me buddies in our late teens looking for a place to smoke. This song was on all of our mix tapes we made.. smokin songs along with bury me in smoke
if these guys came out in the mid 90s, they didnt get the airplay they deserved. being in Atlanta in the last half of the 90s, i did not hear them on any of the stations and that is an incredible shame. the riff is one that grabs your soul and comforts you.
Anthony G The best combo for sure. This is as good or better than any albums in history. Good as the stones Zep. Then again I loved C.O.C. saw them many times playing clubs. Deliverance live was epic. Early Panetta live fucking epic. Cemetery gates.... Fuck yeah!!!!!!
This song was frequently played on a rock radio station in Davao City NU 107 FM more than a couple of decades ago. And this was one of my favourites.👍✌️♥️🤘😉
House of Blues in NOLA. Burning a good one on the floor with Kyle Turley overhead. Slamdanced my soul out. Good memories, good friends. Long live NOLA!!!
