Stonehenge on a BMW S1000Rs

man. i have been in a hospital fighting for my life for about 3 weeks. I watched this in my inbox last night with tears of joy pure passion via S1000rs

RJ even filtering in the countryside, not just the city. Just shows how congested England is, if you like queueing in traffic come and join us.

You see a video, you dont feel like watching it. But when you see RJ's video, cant leave without watching it.

Left the UK about 10 years ago. The roads are like a car park. So congested its crazy.

I have a big ass subwoofer in my room, feels like I'm sitting behind RJ and listening to the exhaust... :O Whole room is shaking and mom yelling from downstairs lol :D

Basically sat through 9 minutes of heaven listening to your bike. The ending was the icing on the cake. Beautiful sounding bike, even better in person I imagine. keep up the work with all your vlogs and dedication to the channel! ☺

I'd say it is a relief being able to let your bike rip a bit more since your always in the city in traffic

It must have changed a lot since I visited Stonehenge 18 years ago. We drove right up to the visitor center almost opposite the site and parked easily. We only had to walk through the visitor center where you pay, then walked under the road and we were there! I don't recall much traffic either. We might have been there on a week day though. I don't remember.

That cruise control though ........ LOL :D

Back in the 1970's we used to visit Stonehenge quite a bit, then you could park real close and you weren't stopped from climbing the stones! now you'd be better off looking at it on Google Earth!!!! nice day for a run out though RJ

Hey RJ - I also live round there (next village on from Stonehenge on the A303) and was doing that journey yesterday on the M3 /A303 on my 2000 Triumph Sprint. Really fun and interesting to see you ride the roads I know so well 👍

Your in my neck of the woods. Stonehenge is just down the road. It's pathetic how restricted you are niw. I remember walking right up to it and walking amongst the stones, touching them and enjoying the freedom. The U.K. is now overcrowded and it's ridiculous that sanctions have to be placed. The roads around Amesbury / Berwick Down can't cope - the A303 is a nightmare. Too many people, too many cars. Ruins a great heritage site.

I live in Devon but work near London during the week so going past Stonehenge is part of my weekly commute. With my car I always avoid and go the Larkhill way but I actually enjoy zipping through the tailbacks there on my bike.

I completely agree, it's stupid how far you have to stand. During the summer solstice there, you're allowed as close as you want all day and until sunrise the next day. only then is it worth visiting and experiencing the atmosphere, it's fantastic

The distance to Stonehenge itself may have been disappointing, the ride there made me jealous. Not very much bothered by traffic, changing helmet cam with gimbal, I like it very much. Thanks RJ.

Hey RJ, could you please tell us the settings on your ZOOM H2N?

Take a ride up to Derbyshire some time RJ and go for a blat on Snake Pass, the roads in the Dales are made for bikes and they have beautiful backdrops. Go on a Sunday as Matlock is fairly close by and is always crowded out with bikers.

That second camera was awesome to watch... and what a great ending to the vid aswell ;) top work

Honestly I've been there twice. The first time was in 2004 and got there on a rented bike. It was a dark cloudy day and as we rode there we saw the clouds parting and a ray of light beaming down upon it. It was like something from an old bible movie. It was so astonishing that I'll carry that memory to my grave. It was to my left going there but I was coming from Bath. We actually parked real close that time. So close we didn't feel the need to pay and go in as we had a good enough view as it was. We were also pressed by time. The second time was quite recent and I parked in the car park and payed for an entry which was absolutely worth it. It may be 'only' some huge stones but there is a peaceful feeling in there and a bit of background on how far away the builders got those boulders from would make you appreciate the site more. You shouldn't have skimped on paying when you got so close mate.

When I went there about 7 years ago by car I could park quite closely I think, maybe it has changed by now. It was interesting enough for me to pay the fare and go "inside", up close it was interesting to see.

RJ shows once again that he can handle the BMW like a boss! :-) Also, I saw that dirt road you where headed down and thought you where going down the access road to Copehill Down Army training camp - nasty road and too muddy for my liking! Slightly off topic there xD great video as always RJ :-)

One used to be able to drive up to stone henge and walk around it with a few meters, but they had to end that a few years ago due to vandalism I think.

When i went to stone henge last summer we took a path that took you around the rocks.

in the 70's and 80's you could walk right up to it, health and safety all that jazz now

Visited Stonehenge last June. Great trip from London but wondered the same thing, why so far away? I travelled from America to see it.

Goes for a ride in the countryside... spends most of the day filtering, haha! What, were the city streets too empty for you on the bank holiday?! Would be cool to see more trips around the UK.
