On the higher setting would this be okay to use with a wheelchair to get into a really high bed?

Heather Gillespie, thank you for your question. If the individual is able to stand from the wheelchair and has the strength to step up forward or sideways onto the Step2Bed while holding onto the higher rail of the Step2Bed. The highest step position is approx 7.5 -8 “. Another thing to check is to make sure there is enough room next to the bed to accommodate the Step2Bed and the width of the wheelchair. Hope this is helpful. Take care! ✌🏻❤️😊 AECorner.com

Thank you! That helps. Would it be best to do that sideways from the chair? I can pivot and stand and the sides of the wheelchair flip up. I just can’t transfer from my chair to the bed if standing on the floor/pivoting

@@THEgillylouise, will you be able to safely step up onto the step from the floor once standing from the wheelchair?

To be honest, I’m not sure! I have not been assessed on stairs but I believe if I have something to grab onto then I should be able to. I have been looking into other methods and they all seem to be lifts which I’m trying to avoid

@@THEgillylouise, we like to error on the conservative side. Depending on how high you need the step in order to get into the bed, you might be surprised at the effort it could take getting up a 6-8 inch step if it is not something you do frequently. We would recommend talking to your primary care doctor about maybe getting a PT eval for home safety. This situation could be reviewed for you to see what might be your best solution, especially before spending much money. Just wanting to make sure you get the best result regarding your physical ability and safety.

I am interested in the leg lifter you mentioned in the video. My mother is having difficulty getting off of the bed and is having issues with her leg hitting the lower bar (which is flush with the bed height).
