When i get 1 like il do a storytime about my nailbitting journey! Edit: so heres the storytime ( kinda) ... so when i was 8 my friend showed me how to bite ur nails and i was like " ewww" but a week later i started to bite my nails for 2 years... then i decided to quit but i just coud not! But all my friends had soo pretty long nails, while i was stuck with my ugly bitten nails.... but like 1 month i decided to quit but ACTUALLY quit and now my nails are soooo long ( also i mostly bited my nails bc in 1th grade my nails were so long they hurted so yeah)
Also! A tip for anyone who wants to stop picking at/biting their nails is to put bandaids on the most affected fingers and use a rubber band to keep ur hands busy. I used to bite my nails and I still pick but I’m trying really hard to stop so these r things that have helped me! ❤ good luck everyone! I’m proud of u all!
I'm 14 and since I was like 5 I have had a nail-biting habit because I have ADHD which gave me an anxiety disorder that makes me bite my nails. I also bite my nails as a way to keep concentrated on a certain thing like video games or shows and crocheting and we call it fidgeting or stemming I just said a way to concentrate because I don't know how much people know about ADHD and everything that comes with it.
As someone who has a horrible nail biting habit, and nails that are so weak it’s almost painful, I have some tips that really work. I take biotin everyday, and I must say it really does help. I love using jojoba oil on my nails too. If you can get a glass nail file, once a week you can file the edge a little bit. The glass nail file helps seal keratin in the nails, but if you only have a regular nail file that’s okay too:) you can rub lotion on the nails also. When I do these things, I see a big difference! I hope I could help:)

I have super long and healthy nails, my biggest tips are: forget about them, Then when you have a sudden reminder, cut them. Cutting them sounds bad, but realize its going to make them healthier over time, the more you cut them, it gives them time to grow better every time! Not too short though. Also, wear clear nail polish because that keeps them stronger. And DONT WEAR GEL! it ruins them! Hope this helps!
Your nails are so beautiful and long I actually have jojoba oil but I just ordered the Burt’s bees one this is my favorite RU-vid short and I am actually trying to grow out my nails like yours this really helped and you are such a kind person from vera❤
Small tip for people who are starting to get out of nail biting habits: carry stuff to fidget with it could be anything as long as it keeps your hands busy! Examples: Pop its, keychains, or even bubble wrap! I personally use bubble wrap for my sister because its pretty much free! I just keep all the bubble wrap i find and cut it into squares! Whenever i notice my sister nibbling on her nails i give her a square of bubble wrap! But please do not use the bubble wrap hack for kids under 4 or kids that like putting stuff in their mouth. Please do not use any of these hacks while driving.
I know for me, I use press on nails for about 5 days and it’s long enough for me to kick the habit. Also if you’re someone who finds it hard to not file in one direction, get a crystal file because then you can do the sawing motions and it won’t damage the nails
Thanks for sharing when I always get my nails done at the nail salon but after they start growing out to the end and I take them off they start splitting
I know this video is pretty old now but could I ask do your nails naturally become thinner after not biting and caring for them beause I think when I hit my nails they never fully recover I’m trying to stop actively biting them and start with fidget toys etc
do you know how to get more pink back in your nails? i use to bite my nails but now i’m starting to grow out my nails and the pink part of my nails are still far back.
I’m not an expert but I’m pretty sure u can’t? I feel like that’s just different for everybody. Kinda like how some people have longer nailbeds compared to others. But I’m not 100% sure
One question so far I have really nice short nails but they are past my finger tips so maybe not so short I get scared sometimes they are really hard others it is flexible is this due to moisture like water ik it happens when I swim will oils help them from breaking and such I've just stopped biting my nails so trying my best if one breaks idk how I'll handle it 😂
i havw a question,, how do you moisturize ur nails with nail polish on? People say to leave the polish on but you also can’t moisturize when the nail polish is on right?
I put the nail oil under my nail! So it’s still can moisturize the nail but just underneath :). If your nails aren’t long enough to do so, just moisturizing the cuticle is good enough until they can grow out more ! (I am not a professional tho)
I mean if you an anxiety nail biter you wouldn’t stop straight away. Bc you know the triggers you more able to stop. And you’d would need like gradual and conscience effort to stop. You’d have to retrain your thinking pattern or behaviours to stop the biting or use a healthier form of habit to replace it.
