Buy this instead: geni.us/bpLTA (aff). The Logitech G502 will go down in history along with the MX518 as being a legendary mouse. But is it because of the crippling hand related ailments it's going to cause in the future? Or is it a genuinely good mouse that deserves it's praise? What do you think, is the Logitech G502 still worth it? Let us know in the comments.

That is exactly why the weights are designed for. Example for me, after hitting the gym, my FPS accuracy drops a lot due to shaking. I install the weights then my shakiness goes away. The next day when I wake up, the mouse feels heavy, to which I then now pop out the additional weights. pretty convenient if u ask me.

Weight is really a personal pref. Low weight mice is a more recent thing in the last 5 years or so and I've noticed that it came about the same time companies started to make quality soft mouse pads. However, soft pads usually have more friction than hard pads so I've always felt there was a correlation. I've always said a good low friction mouse pad negates any weight issues of a heavier mouse.

I tried a razer viper ultimate for about a year, and besides it being too small for my hands, it was also too light. Once it killed itself in 6 months (thanks razor) I grabbed one of these. It’s everything I want in a mouse, solid build, extra buttons but not so many that you can’t keep track of them, heavy so I can actually feel my mouse, and large enough where my hand isn’t just on the mousepad the whole time. It may not be for everyone, but this trend towards lower weight is just that: a trend. In reality some people like heavier mice and some like lighter. I personally run mine with all the weights in so it’s about 140g, and I love it. It also keeps my from using my wrist for aim, which in my case is relevant since I have had carpal tunnel before and don’t want to risk it again. The 502 is a great mouse, with its largest downside being it’s driver software. It doesn’t match the trend of gaming mice right now, but I’d rather see more options than everyone trying to make the same thing. Variety is good for the customer.

only things that matter in a review and everyone should always say it How much does it cost? How long does it last before it breaks? Does the scroll wheel last long without issues? Does the pressing/bottoms last long without issues? everything else is pointless and of no importance, the mouse can be super heavy, hard cable, many bottoms or few, but in the end if lets say i pay 40€ and the mouse lasts 5 years without 1 single problem then it's the best mouse ever no contest there, wish reviews actually went into durability instead of minutes and minutes of "don't like this, has bottoms here and there blabla"

I use G502 and G305. The G502 is a VERY good mouse for productive use and games that don't aren't focused on aiming skills. The extra butons are very useful for web browsing and productive work. On my mouse, the sideways scrollwheel clicks are the back and forward buttons. The thumb side buttons are copy, paste and enter. The side buttons of left click are undo and redo. The G305 is used for fps games and for portability. It's a great mouse for laptops and it turns off after 5 minutes of inactivity. But it turns on immediately if you move it, so it's seamless. The stock battery lasted more than 3 months of exclusive use (only started using G502 recently) and you can easily squeeze out 1 month of battery life out of a AAA battery. The stock feet are a bit annoying, as they have a small surface area, and can sort of dig into the mouse pad, increasing the friction resistance. Using a fingertip grip has fixed this issue. Overall, G502 is an extremely good mouse for productivity and games that aren't competitive fps's.

Looks to me trivial and pretty much irrelevant. Years ago I used to hang around with a guy who, hands down, was the best FPS player I ever came across. Be that IRL or online. Regardless of whether it was 1:1, DM or TDM he was wiping the floor with everyone. While people were talking about display response times, dpi sensitivities, how good a certain mouse was clicking... blah blah blah... he was perfectly comfortable with gaming on a 15" CRT monitor and two button PS/2 mouse. The guy was unplayable. If you suck at driving a car owning a Lambo will make no difference.

I used this mouse exclusively for 4 years and came to just about all the same conclusions as you. Recently updated to a Pulsar X2H mini and have been loving how much easier it is to move around the mousepad. I have to imagine most of the people complaining in the comments are picking it up recently and haven't used other superlight mice, since it's fairly old by now it goes on sale for a low price pretty often these days. It's certainly not a bad mouse and will definitely get the job done, but there are other options that will likely be more useful to someone if they just spent a little more or did a little more research. My pulsar mouse was on sale for almost half off, and there were other models that were just about the same price as the G502 Hero.

Using the G402 from 2015, G502 from 2019 and G502X for a while, the primary charm is definitely the ergonomic layout of the mouse and its buttons. I'm not an 'ubermensch' playing and acing all FPS games. I play them casually where the limitations of my mouse is far exceeded by limitations of my skill. The extra buttons are laid very thoughtfully and I can always bind and use them easily, unlike a MOBA focused mouse, like for example, corsair Scimitar Pro. The scimitar's buttons were unwieldy and a chore to accurately use, and has been a waste of money for me. G502 is therefore the best mouse to buy if you need extra buttons close by. The weight is welcome because I use a very high sensitivity and can reach any point in my screen with small-ish movements. Not ideal for FPS but that's not my thing anyway. The poor build of the wire bugs me but I've made my peace with it. Though I would be really happy if they changed that. But on a day to day basis, I never notice the wire, and have never felt annoyed at the nonexistence of a braided cable. The only gripe I've had with the series of mice is that the gunk and grime accumulating in the crevices are a real issue, I wouldn't mind if they turned their 'transformer' aesthetic down for practicality. And I've had to replace the switches after a few years because they started doubleclicking. But G502X has optical switches which should alleviate the issue. Otherwise, great mouse so far, and definitely worth it.

Dude is so weak that he can't move more than 100g, lol Nah, but being serious, I never understood the thing for lightweight mice, I personally prefer them heavier. Bought the first ever 502 a few months after it came out and still use it to this day (currently needing a replacement because it has started to get that horrible greasy feeling even though I clean it daily and I am very careful with not having dirty hands near my electronics. The mouse is top tier, extremely versatile, there are games where the amount of buttons really do help a lot, like on CoD Zombies, since you have easy access to the usual d-pad functions on your mouse hand, also, for creative suite purposes the buttons have been a huuuge time saver for me, the scroll wheel is also something I love about the mouse. I don't think it's overrated, it just isn't for someone like you that just prefers something simple and light.
@DmanDmax

The problem isn't the mouse or its weight, it's your grip. Palm grip requires you to move your wrist way more than fingertip grip where you just move the mouse under your hand by moving your fingers. It also extremely easy to make small movements that way. The actual problem with the mouse is that the rubber grip for your thumb wears down after 3-4 years down to the bare plastic and the scroll wheel notches smooth down to a point where your finger slips over it.

I've been using it for 8 years now. What I like, the shape, placement and number of buttons, hefty scroll wheel, easy software, infinite scroll wheel and left and right buttons on it. What I dislike, flaky rubber, the crevices between the side buttons (it's a grime magnet), coating on the scroll wheel has worn off, teflon pads are too small and weird shape and also collect grime between the crevices, ideally the mouse bottom should be one big chunk of teflon. If I could make a custom version I'd remove the rubber completely and have a smooth surface instead of that triangle pattern, have machined stainless steel scroll wheel, improve the side buttons. Other than that it's a perfect mouse.

All of the drawbacks mentioned in this video are what I would condsider benefits. The weight is what attracted me to it in the first place, the DPI is user selectable including the snipe button, the infinite scroll wheel is perfect for thrust control when flying in War Thunder and the new cable is better than the braided one as it gives less resistance on your desk.

The right mouse button isn't reliable anymore, it makes double-clicks and or none at all. I upgraded to a Deathadder V3 Pro and I agree with almost everything said in the video. Alright so, after watching the whole video, I do have many disagreements with some of your statements regarding the mouse, but I will start with what I DO agree with. To give preface, I've been using the G502 Hero for about the last 2 years. I wholeheartedly agree that the cable is absolute hot dog water, but I've come up with a solution that has worked rather well for me to compensate where the cable lacks, and oh boy does it lack. The monitor I play most games on, including FPS, has a lil slot in it for cable management through the stand itself, which I fed the cable through and additionally to prevent more flip floppiness I've just stuck a small piece of tape over the cable attaching it to the base of the stand. It's by no means a perfect solution, but I have enough desk space that it's not a massive problem otherwise. The other thing that I agree with is that it definitely does get dirty, but I mean 5 minutes of cleaning every once in awhile never hurt anyone. The ability to unlock the wheel has also become useful in my job as of late, allowing me to efficiently scroll through massive amounts of bullshit with extreme speed. Beyond that, I feel that the mouse, for me, is decently weighted on its own, and I have not added any weights. I play games such as Insurgency, Tarkov, CSGO, as well as some more casual games like Minecraft and Eve Online. For CS and Tarkov especially, I feel like the added weight does actually help quite a lot in keeping my movements steady and much smoother, because I don't end up having to re-micro adjust if I accidentally over adjust. I did used to play around with dpi quite a bit, but all under 1000dpi, until I settled on the dpi I liked most with the mouse which currently sits at 800. The mouse isn't uncomfortable in my hand whatsoever, and I feel as if my hands are larger than average. On a steelseries mouse pad, with the default feet the mouse glides incredibly smoothly. Now, I am by no means a pro, but of all the mice I have used in the past, it certainly has been the best for me. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of lighter mice though, so I will admit I'm biased there. However, I do believe your statement on the mouse taking considerably more effort to move is overexaggerated at best. Moving it takes a miniscule amount of effort, as with a lot of modern mice, and I am by no means fit. In fact, I'll be brutally honest and say I'm a fat fuck who hasn't worked out since 2019. I have had 0 issues with my wrist as a result of using the mouse, or in general. Thanks for the chad compliment though

I guess some people like this reviewer don't get it because they cannot comprehend why. People buy it because they like the feel of the mouse and the button layout and how many buttons it have. Not everyone plays FPS all day long in some sweaty CSGO lobby. Many of us play RPG games and SP games in general. Having a mouse where you can map most functions in the game for quick access without having to take your fingers off WASD is a good thing. I can move and toss nades and drop ammo or do other things in full speed of movement. No moving index finger away from W to hit a number key to do an action. That just stops you. It has had improvements as well. The G502X wireless is ~100gram. Only issue with it, it springy noise on main buttons, but a minor thing if you don't hear it when gaming. No more heavy metal mouse wheel, that was a dumb idea they had at the first 1-2 generations. Yes it's not the lightest mouse, it's ergonomics can take some getting used to. But most adapt and get used to it.

First time I used it, it fit perfectly. Everything was awesome except for the feet. They peel off way too quickly and start to catch your mousepad. I had to buy new feet (Hotline Games F4 Silver) and they are 5000 times better. They glide way better and doesn't bend and stick to the pad. The coating also come off really quickly. Yes light mouse is good but if you prefer cable then it will be affected by it weight or other forces from it when its folded by your movement then it good to have heavy mouse... then If mouse use batteries then its not light anymore ... more batteries more weight more work time! Also good plastick weight a bit and if you want to make it lighter you need to or use slighty les plastic = it would not be strudy or/and use some structurizing to make structure light and durable at same time. This mouse for me is ok. In term of roller - I bought it because of it ... why ? Im working with tons of code so scroling for me through like 1000 lines of code one hand is faster thant using keyboard combination to go to the line (maybe it wouldntbe if I would know which line I would go exactly) so at same time Im making sip of tea or juice or just scratching bottom :P. So I love its so super fast to scrol and at same time this lock mechanism to make it heh click - of course this mode could be littme more smotther but its ok'isch for my taste. swift change of its programable speeds is v v v nice for gaming experience as well as working for me is nice. Plastic is super nice in touch and not leaving musges after touch! Then minuses for me from greatest to not so problematic: 1. Logitech app id influence some of my older programs like msiafterburner - I cannot open it anymore because of some visual C++ problem induced by logitech - but the list of problems with some application is greater - because I use old windows and older application because I do not like to be imposed windows 10 or 11 my freadom of use linux or whatever I want (win 11 taking control on what you can run on computer! WTF) so yeach - google it or check what win 11 brings to the table (or rather take) more than just subscriptions 1-2. after one year medicore extensive use my left button started to double click! - wtf its not premium as they told 2. its edges - it is just dust and skin and swet gatherer after 1 year of gaming I got hard time clearing all those gaps!!! - yeah its not bad but when I want to clear /wash mouse I want it to be clear - but of course some people may say eh whatever (its my prefrence) 3. to open this mouse and fix it you would need to remove stickers (so you want to buy new ones! wtf) to conclude - its v nice mouse overall - it was super easy to use and not as expensive. If I would find mouse with mitigation of above mentioned problems with same pross even if litle more expensive I would bought different mouse) in fact there is one which is in of copy of this one - seems nice and those microsticks are of better endurance so yeah I wich change it especialy because of this intrusive problematic logitech apps - dont get me wron ... aplication is flawles and easy to use in ters of it user experience but not in terms of backward system / aplication compatibility. so if cons are something you would want to avoid especialy if my pross are not good enough for you then you would want to avoid this mouse iven if its a nice mouse.

I have a G502, and a Hero. The first one is far superior, from my perspective playing Darktide at the time I switched. I thought it'd be an upgrade and improve my capability, but it nerfed me. The first G502 is much smoother and accurate. The Hero, even at very low DPI settings, skips over a pixel at the slightest move of the mouse. As a result it's extremely difficult to get pinpoint long distance shots. I spent a hundred pounds on the Razer Atlas tempered glass mousemat and like 50 for this Hero mouse thinking it was an upgrade, it's outrageous that it is fundamentally worse than the previous one in this crucial way.
