I’m just starting to invert, today was my first day, started with about 1k in VTI, I don’t have much that’s why I can’t add more, but I will try bit by bit, just thinking today if I would’ve invested what I wasted on video games, but sadly I didn’t know how to do it.... now I do I’m planning on continuing this journey with you guys!!! :)

Cryptocurrencies get their backing from their communities. These communities consist of the miners who run servers to maintain the network, software developers, and holders of the currencies that determine the direction of the project through voting or other means. Although they may not have traditional legal structures such as a company or govt, they get their backing the same way; through the people that support it.

On the crypto topic: 1.) Neither is the US dollar 2.) If you think this is a major issue with regard to Bitcoin/Ethereum, then you don't understand the underlying technology. Its literally designed to prevent chain manipulation. You will always be able to "hack" endpoints (wallets/exchanges) as they aren't on a blockchain. This is also no different than today's systems, your money in your bank account can still be hacked. The actual blockchain, when done correctly, like Bitcoin/Ethereum, is damn near impossible to "hack". 3.) This is true, but this is true of stocks, have you seen Tesla?

or just take ur crypto off of exchanges and hold it physically. I agree with you, it is a necessary hedge for anyone looking to retire early. At least get 1 btc. I really think our kids will be happy we did.

I know you guys did a video (or two, or three....) on *which fidelity ETF's* you're invested in. Are you ever going to update that info again as to help newcomers clue into what you're invested in/really like/and constantly depositing more $$$ into? (i'd like to set up tracking/charting them per history on these specific ETF's to gain better perspectives) Also, methinks that it would interesting if you discussed broadening portfolio ideas per other ETF's you've been maybe watching/charting/tracking and considering investing in as well. I love you guys, but I disagree on the options argument. Happy to explain to anyone how I retired on options trading! There are non-speculative ways to work with options. I know I’m late to this party :), but catching up on your greatest hits vids. There are smart ways to use options that are able to accelerate cash if used right.

Warren Buffet is the largest option trader in the US. The average person who does not understand mathematics should stay away from options. Everyone has a different strength so maybe mathematics is not your thing and another investing category is.

Whole life insurance is borderline scam, most people don’t know this but when you die, WL insurance pays out only the insurance part, they keep the cash value, yes you heard me right, and add that to all the hidden fees you guys mentioned, most people end up surrendering it, which is even worse... avoid it at all cost

im 28, maxing out Roth IRA and contributing to 401k. No kids, only student loan debt. My financial advisor says I should do a permanent life insurance to grow tax free money to be financially independent at 45. Should I just take that cost and put it in the market instead?

I just watched your last RU-vid video, thank you very much. I would have loved you sharing the history of stocks longer than 1990s. If we see it from the 1940s after the great depression, it took decades to recover. Or like the japanese stock market, which has never recovered from its 1980s performance. Shouldn't we be scared that we hit a crisis that long post pandemic? or what conditions do you think would prevent a crisis of that magnitude?

I think a good rule of thumb is to only invest what you understand. I invest in many Cryptocurrencies (mainly the top Cryptos) and I have been very successful. However, I do respect your assessment. Love your videos....keep up the good work!

I was surprised that my strategy aligns with yours . The only exception is I believed that art could be a good investment , I don’t have any because I can’t afford it . But you made a great point about being ripped off. It got me to thinking about some artwork that I purchased years ago at an art festival . I purchased it because I liked it not as an investment . It was pretty pricey $400 . I was kind of disappointed when I realized that it wasn’t an actual painting but a poster I.e. print and I was mostly paying for the frame .

With Bitcoin I see it as a fun bet whereby I'm totally not bothered about losing it - it's only less than 2% of my portfolio (and getting lower as I continue DCA into other main investments). I feel the upside is worth it for the sake of potential loss. If there's a sudden surge in the future I couldn't forgive myself for taking money out in the past lol. When you compare the returns from bitcoin in later years of 800%+/year (averaged past 4 years) to a more sensible approach of around 10% return it's kind of a no-brainer to put just a little bit in there in the off-chance it begins to fly again. Even just a 10% chance of multiplying your money by THAT much is worth the so called "risk".

Even wealthy people have life insurance policies. It’s a fairly inexpensive way of guaranteeing your family is well taken care of above and beyond your current investments. I believe their portfolio is only a few million. A life insurance policy can easily be 1 million for fairly cheap as a younger adult. My husband and I each have a policy and we’re 32 and 43. Our policies combined are $100 a month and our children and their care takers will receive over a million dollars if we die. How can you beat that return on your money? Haha I’m my opinion, it’s still very much worth it. Especially if you’re looking at it from the perspective of you can add a third of your wealth to your children’s wealth if you die.

Should you have term insurance if you don’t have children? You can use the premium to invest in stock, something that can benefit you and your spouse before you die. I have term life insurance for years- now questioning if it was the best choice for me.

Actually with 1-5% bitcoin (not crypto!) portion in your portfolio you get a better sharpe ratio with higher upside. It's one of the best asymmetric bets of our generation. As of now, there are no taxes on bitcoin in Portugal. Just research it. Greetings!

Options are used to hedge your investments, they're not intended to be investments themselves. They don't realize that if they had been selling options against they're holdings they would've doubled their wealth if done correctly. Don't diss something because you don't understand it.

options can be very lucrative. selling covered calls against stocks you own or selling cash-secured puts on stock you want to buy any way will magnify your gains. i agree buying options is a very risky game but selling premium is making me realize my goals a lot quicker. also you can trade options on etfs to limit your risk if you don't like blue chip stocks.

I have a nice amount in a savings account at my bank but was thinking about putting it over with my vanguard account in a general investment account have you guys used one of those accounts.? I feel my money is going to waste just sitting there earning next to nothing I need it to work faster lol

Good video, but there is a major flaw in your discussion about collectibles. You forgot about vintage wine. This has been a very reliable and lucrative investment for decades. I regret that I didn't invest even more when I was younger. BUT yes, you have to have storage space. And you must know your wines.

There is a generally safe conservative way to trade options where you’re mostly just keeping the premiums paid to you. I have only made money selling puts and if I ever have to buy 100 shares, it’s always a stock I want anyways. I don’t sell puts if I don’t want the stock.

Love you two and your videos, I’ve be been watching you two for years now! One question, if one reason you don’t invest in Bitcoin is because it isn’t backed, wouldnt gold fall under that same criteria? Don’t get me wrong, I understand gold has a long history of proven stability....perhaps in time BTC will too.

What about index universal life? The returns are a lot better than whole life and also not all annuities have fees and after 10 years the surrender period falls off. IRA and 401k has the fee of the 59 in a half rule plus taxes you will pay upon withdraw which is 40% of your money gone

I understand your issue with cryptocurrency not being based on a tangible asset, however more and more cryptocurrencies are becoming more of a "company" that you can view as owning a share of like COSMOS, Etherium, and Chainlink. I see it as investing more in a technology that is happening in the future but I understand a lot of people disagree with that. Like FIRE, if you don't understand it, don't invest for sure! The market is definitely volatile but that's also why I strongly believe in only investing money into it that you CAN lose... and perhaps look at it as long-term instead of short term investment. As you can see today, Bitcoin has gone back to it's all-time high and past it so if you hold it long enough chances are that you will get the value and more back from it. I'll be following you all to see what you do invest in though, I'm really enjoying your channel so far so thanks!
