I always knew that cloning monitors made my aim feels worse! Thank you for doing this because every time I googled the subject it was just a bunch of people gas lighting everybody saying stupid things like "Not enough lag to notice" TRIGGERED. I played OW for years and now Apex and I always knew the games felt better with my monitor cloned. By the way, of course the Capture Companies don't want to improve their products. The Industry is about making the Worst Viable Product

Can you explain why you disable hardware acceleration in OBS? As I understand it uses a dedicated chip on your GPU. So with a CPU bound game isn't it better to use the GPU?

NDI gives my stream a lot of delay and it's tricky to get audio synced because sometimes the delay is more, and sometimes it's less. Also despite me having good internet (1000mbps) my stream/ndi feed keeps randomly cutting out. Some streams it doesn't, and some it does it all the time. So it's not reliable for me unfortunately. But I'm glad you told me about the projector method, because at least I can use that. I had horrible issues with hz, latency and screen tearing with the clone method.

I had an awful experience with NDI. I will try to give it a go again, lots of headaches with capture cards. I use cloning. Sometimes no problems noticeable, sometimes it's awful... FSP sucks for streaming quality (I began to notice it since I got a 4K display)... For NDI, do you use OBS on gaming PC as an administrator ? Thanks for the investigation BTW, this problem has been a nightmare for me for almost 3 years.

I had random frame drops with my old elgato 4k60 v1 and I used to clone. Bought an Avermedia Live Gamer 4K GC573 and switched to fullscreen projector. I noticed the stream PC PCIE max payload was stuck at 128 instead of 256 for the cap card. Had to disable my ethernet port via Bios (and buy a usb ethernet port) to get the full 256 max payload. Then I switched the stream PC OBS encoder from x264 to NVENC P7 HQ Two Pass High. My stream is 4k with full 4:4:4 color downscaled to 1080, and is smoother than it has ever been. Only way to get smoother is to cap game at 120 to evenly divide into 60. I don't think stream quality gets any better than that without AV1.

Love the content per usual! I was kinda shocked that OBS Teleport wasnt brought up aswell because that seems to be the go-to when you search dual pc streaming setup w/o capture card. Id love to get your honest thoughts on OBS Teleport compared to NDI? Ive never used NDI but ive been using obs teleport for a while now and it works flawless for me. Im using a I9-12900K,4080 ROG STRIX, 16GB DDR4 3600 RAM, AND ASUS PG27AQN 360HZ 1440P monitor (Gaming Rig) sent to a I7- 9700K, 3070, 16GB DDR4 3200, AND AN ACER PREDATOR XB27 280HZ 1080P Monitor upscaled to 1440p (Streaming PC). I still get roughly between 340 - almost 400 FPS on MW 3 MP and my ping stays around 24-25. Thanks brosive!

I just went back from a dual pc to single pc. Too many issues. Audio, latency and just plain out shit breaks constantly. I can hold 144 fps solid with my 3070 ti in every game I play while streaming 1080/60 to twitch using a single pc setup and not have to deal with ANY issues.

I am actually excited of my new purchase, unfortunately gonna get it in a week though... capture card actually able to capture 1440p/240Hz (or 1080/360) 😮 Let's see how it goes, but Avermedia GC575 seems to be way to go

A problem im seeing with ndi is ping. Im on fiber and zero ping. Plenty of network but when using ndi my ping jumps really high. How can we prevent or fix this?

Good info. I have no need for this currently but I like watching these. No reason for capture cards to be this bad. Many people have high refresh monitors and 4K now. Been thinking about getting a 4K 240Hz monitor as well for some SP games, seems the G8 is the only available one. Thoughts on it? Looked at your channel but couldn't find a dedicated video about the G8 (maybe I am blind), would love to hear your opinion on it. Maybe you could make a mini review video about it if you feel like it, that'd be nice.

@@FR33THY Ah, damn. I watched a stream a while ago when you got it and you seemed to like it at the time. Perhaps I should buy it and sell it later when the one above you mentioned comes out. These things seem to take forever to release, I'm guessing we have to wait at least a year+ if not more for more 4K 240Hz monitors hence why I was thinking of just getting this one for now. The price is around 1050 EUR here. Picture wise, were you impressed by the quality at least?

In the last part of the video you showed some configs presets and their effect either on input lag and FPS. Did you also tested the common NVENC streaming and its effects? Tried NDI last year and it looked like had more impact than the simple NVENC single PC setup. I haven't tested for real but it felt like that on my end lol

FR33THY, can you quickly summarize the best streaming option for no/low input lag? I currently play on a 1080p 240hz monitor, but plan to switch to 1080p 540hz when asus releases it. I don't want to worry about input lag when I start streaming. Also, I use a single PC right now, but have another. Is single or dual better?

Is game capture affected by pass through limits like 1440p 144, or limit hz like the cloning bug? I’m assuming no but really really want to be sure. Game capture might be the best for me, NDI bandwidth usage can get me throttled

Any ideas, followed your tutorial. When I use game capture I get a black screen. Also using desktop capture is terrible. stutter mess. Ndi and all plug in's installed on both computers. Streaming rig should be good enough 6700k oced 16gig ram gtx 980. Also both are connected cat 6 via Glnet router and switch with both add in nIc's running at 2.5g. I tested packet transfer between the two and both were able to top out at that bandwidth. Any ideas?

Elgato and others are still sandbagging and only selling 4K60 cards for super high industry monopoly prices. While we have phones that can record 4K120 video's, they are clearly maximizing profits with the cheap chips selling them for 5x prizes! What I do is record gameplay with my iGPU which can do 1440p120 x265 50Mbps perfectly fine, don't need no stinking buggy capture cards from greedy companies! The AMD 7000X3D series CPUs with a lot more L3 cache are very good in handling video recording with minimal FPS drop.

I remember doing this - only caveat i'd say is that the NDI uses h265/hevc encoding, right? so you just need compatible CPUs to do this unless you're using nvenc or something

sorry i buy a capture card bro i use it for capturing my console games i use a dual pc setup i never going back too single pc setup .i might try my ryzen 5 5600 and rx 6600 with 16gb ram i might try streaming and gaming but again i have too lower settings

Sending the stream via obs-ndi still uses about 5% gpu. When a game already uses 95% gpu, it results in stuttering. You must have a very strong gaming pc. Or not run games/apps that needs a lot of gpu.

I have a dual setup Game with 7800XT Other pc is ryzen 5 5500 And Asus strix RTX 2070 8gb OC So I do need a card right????? I want to play at 1440p 144 like I do and stream in 1080p 60fps to RU-vid. @@punksnotdead518 NDI is better than obs teleport but The best option is to have a monitor that has an hdmi 2.1 port then use the new elgato 4k pro or the 4k pro x. Run an hdmi 2.1 out your game pc to the cap card in your stream pc the out the cap card with hdmi 2.1 into the monitor. Those cap cards have 1440p 240hz pass through and the quality is better than ndi

Such headache. cloning is the easiest way to do it. FSP causes random alt tabs and black screens on my main monitor? Like i press settings on kovaaks it does some random alt tab blackscreen thingy. I would imagine it happening with ndi too since it works the same way using FSP. Only way to fix this for all eternity is a DISPLAY PORT CAPTURECARD WITH 240-360hz 1440p PASSTHRU. Display port capturecards... how long do we have to wait for that.

Quick question I'm a little confused. For CONFIG #2 (FSP), why does it say "No extra input lag" in this video, but your other video says that doing CONFIG #2 (FSP) does cause extra input lag? I play on 1080p 144hz CONFIG #2, and I believe it adds input lag to the game. Can you clear that up for me? Is it because you play at 4K res, and for you it doesn't add input lag, but for me it does since I'm on 1080p? love the vids btw

The answer is actually getting the Avermedia Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 Capture card (this card did not release at the time you recorded and uploaded this video). NDI is cool but 1. the quality is not nearly as good as using a direct capture card, 2. the quality of the video isn't as good nor is it as smooth, and 3. it takes a lot of bandwidth from your home network to be able to get respectable quality out of NDI and it may cause issues with routers that aren't good with handling a ton of throughput or even bufferbloat might be a concern. Not to mention it's more programs and resources on your PC.
