Aww, Bruce Wayne was so worried you were hurt! What a sweet boy! The yelping like a hurt puppy really does communicate to them effectively that you really don't like that behavior. It's like when they're puppies and one plays too rough, they'll stop immediately when they hear that sound

I used this method for my corgi puppy, it definitely works! It took about 2 weeks to really solidify it and often I would have to leave and come back 3 times in one session for him to understand it. Also consistency between people is key! It took longer because my dad didn’t do the method, instead he would try to be dominant and say “no” and use force. It was really frustrating having someone in the house who wasn’t following the rules and especially someone who was psychologically messing up my dog.

I just want to say thank you for this video. We recently just brought home a Cane Corso pup and we absolutely adore her. Little did I know, how strong they are (even at 4 months old) ! Lol well, we were playing and Lilith starts biting, and I kept telling her no and she just kept going like I was saying nothing! It was maddening. Well when I reach down she grabbed a hold of my wrist and I yanked and it broke the skin. It was very small but still. So I came across this video when searching on how to get a Cane Corso puppy to stop biting. After watching, I did the “yelp” and Lilith let go immediately and it seemed as if she would do anything until she could sniff me to make sure I was ok. Not sure if that is what it was but that’s the way it seemed. Like “oh no, what did I do? Are you ok?” So again thank you for this video! A true saver!
That advise works! That is exactly what I've done with my cane corso puppy. He is 10 months old and does not bite me at all. Also, when pups are little, you can substitute a toy in their mouth so they can still chew on something to relieve teething pain. But yelping and turning around works great! Bitter apple works great too! Even around the house!😁
Thank you so much for these videos I needed this video today. My son got a 7 week cane corse Wednesday and today she was very very much into biting hands ankles shoes I was so frustrated not knowing what to do and thought maybe it was her vaccines. We will be trying this, but she did have a long day at the vet so I don’t over blame her.
The ouch really does work. Got my Bane (Cane Corso puppy) yesterday and he learned already to not bite me hard. My Bruce Wayne is happy he has a new brother.

Omg! I just tried your get up and walk away on my 10wk old C.C. Puppy and when I returned I noticed an extreme difference. She calmly let me pet her. I think this is going to work after so many no’s. And stop it’s. And also me second guessing myself and skills as a K9 leader. Many many many 🙏. I’m so in love with her already. And this issue had me worried. Thank you for this tip.

I had an Akita. They are great dogs. But a lot of hair. Mine was female. I did the same thing made a noise and walked away. But I would also redirect them sometimes by giving them something they are aloud to chew on.
When it comes to corso’s at least I would definitely say you are an expert you’ve done an exceptional job with Bruce . People can have dogs their whole life but still not have a clue.

I really like your videos. I believe training a dog is also about trying methods for some time and finding what works with them. For example, for my Yorkie I used to do the yelping thing when she was a puppy. She immediately would feel bad and start licking my hand. On the other hand, my sister's Maltese would bite you harder cause she thought it was funny that you made that noise (tbf that dog is not the brightest) LOL

Puppies bite plus they are teething just like babies. When a baby is teething they chew on every they can because it feels good and there gums hurt. We got our Cane Corso puppy 3 days ago and he is biting everything. When he bites something he isn’t supposed to we tell him leave it and redirect it. If it’s us we just stop playing. He realized quick that if he does something we don’t like he doesn’t get the attention he wants. They are very smart and will get it. He absolutely loves his blanket and chews on that when he sleeps. "play time is done" worked super duper well. My pup learned so fast. Of course, while I was strict with her, some other people in the house weren't, so she still nipped with them for a while longer.
I can’t believe we just bought a new cane Corso and we named him Bruce, after Batman, the protector of people….. imagine my horror watching some vids this morning and it’s name has already been taken !!!! Gutted… great name btw 😂❤
We are teaching our 11 week corso to trade. So if he has something in his mouth the command drop and trade for a chew toy is given. We also do the walk away when he bites us. We are on week 2 and he is learning.

With my late Midknight I did the puppy yelp if he bit too hard playing ( lab, pit and great dane mix) I just did it instinctively. I didn't know it was a training technique. Very cool. It only took a few times. He figured out that he could play harder with dad, but not with mom. Man do I miss him.
Just got a Cane corso pup and has random aggression and starts to bit anything. I get nervous cause i have a 11 year old chihuahua and 9 year old shih tzu that are not taking a liking to him and he tends to follow them and sometimes try’s to bite them.
FlaCx you’re being smart - dogs are a lot of work and it’s much better to not get one than to get a dog and leave it alone going crazy. One day your life will allow you to welcome one in your home!
i think you can volunteer at the aspca (or whatever the dog charity is called) to go and just take a shelter dog on walks! thats what someone told me at the dog park a few months ago but i dunno how it works during covid. maybe you can even take them to the dog park or something a few times a week or on nature trails? that way you can just drop off the dog after a day of fun!
My corso puppy bites, but I've fostered 14 puppies in the last 6 months as well as many personal dogs as puppies over the years and they all do the same. 100% right in determining if he is having a temper tantrum. Mine growls like a gremlin when he gets spazzy. I pin him to the ground when he does this and hold him down (not hurting him) until he calms down. Then I hold him down a bit more. He calms down and understands that I am in charge. The small biting of hands and pants, I totally agree with the bite inhibition technique.

And yes it’s totally true I have done the yelp in the past they totally understand and react to that and just watching them together they do that I see my dog do things when another dog is upsetting him or he feels uncomfortable he lets them know rt way what there doing is not cool.
Hey please answer !!!!!! So I bought your training course for raw diet and it went smooth BUT!!! when tried to pet / take the food way he actually bit me and was showing aggression to me. What should I do? I took the food way and put him in the kennel..........
iv always done a negative when being bad but then reinforce it with a positive and my cane corso girl know what she can and can't have and will not go for it again or something new with that command. but as he said puppies will puppies, best is to when they even start grab a toy and will quickly change. my girl knows she can play wrestle and nibble with my hand if I have a glove on but knows she not allowed to do it with anyone else if the house.

I have a 3 months old cane corso, he loves to play and bite a little, so i tried that and it works. My biggest fear was that he will atack my neighbour cats, but when we go past them he does not react at all and he doesnt react on noises or another dogs. He just loves to bite and play alot
My best friend got a Bernese Mountain Dog. And he is SO difficult to handle. It‘s not her first dog, but she just can‘t get him to stop biting. No Dog trainer can help her. Literally every trainer got bitten. They even tried letting him play with a very dominant dog. Didn‘t help. It‘s so sad because he is a great dog 😞
When you say leave/ignore your dog, do you mean put them in the crate first? My dog isn't fully trained, so i can't leave her unattended. Also what should you do if you're outside or not in a space where you can leave/ignore your dog during play time? Should you grab them and take them to the car?
