I’m sorry my video let you down. It was designed this way as I needed to finish it in a short period of time and training a dog to stop a bad behavior can take weeks to months. I’m unsure what just aiming at a dog to show their ears twitch would have done to make this video work better. And this isn’t exactly designed for distance training as much as it’s meant to be used in combination with a command to stop bad behavior completely. And every dog is going to respond differently. I do plan to get around to training a family dog to stop jumping on people with this and will try to remember to comment that video here once published.
My one dog barks at my other dog, this works well but scares my dog who isn't barking, how do I train my dog to not be afraid of it? (I can't separate them since he is the source of my other dog barking)
I'm not a professional dog trainer by any stretch of the imagination so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will comment as well...but my assumption would be to train your scared dog separately to hopefully teach them to associate the sound with being recognized as a good dog and feeling safe. I'd focus on making sure the scared dog is comfortable with the sound before attempting to train your barking dog. One challenge with this will be separating the dogs enough so the other doesn't hear it while you're doing this training and ruin the sound for your main goal - training the other dog to stop barking. Be patient and consistent in your training, but also recognize this might not be a good fit for your dogs. The whole idea is that the dogs don't like the sound so they stop doing whatever it is that causes the sound. If you cannot get your scared dog to be OK with the sound, you'll be punishing them every time you try to get the barking dog to stop.
