Na, I don’t agree, I have a lift on my taco, 3 inch in the front, 2 inch in the rear. It looks great and rode the best it could, did you have a front differential drop down kit? That makes a huge difference.
I have a custom lift on my 2021 pro from Westcott designs, 600-hundred-pound springs in the front for my steel bumper and warn 10S winch and a 4runner flat lift collar to run BFG KO2's 285/75/16.
Great pointers Rob. I have the same tires but no negative offset. Changing subjects a bit, does anybody know why my new Morimoto XB Tail lights have a problem with the blinker signal lights when I have Headlights on AUTO- automatic setting? They work when lights are on, but not on AUTO during the day with only DRLs on. I took the sequential feature off, which is just a harness connector difference within the light itself. Apologies for the high jack Rob.
Yes Rob your truck has a nice stance at the stock height, probably just a tad lower in the front but whatever I think it looks good with your offset on your wheels for sure, yeah it’s hard to lift an independent front suspension without dropping the differential to make the short wheel drive shaft run straighter that’s what it would take!! Just cost a lot more! I think you’re in fine shape the way it is👍
@@RobMotive I know it’s probably harder with a midsize, they need more wheel well clearance in the front end, it will be interesting to see how the new one is🤔!!
What size Falken Wild Peaks are yours? I’m highly interested in switching over to them when my current tires need replacing. My Tacoma is not lifted nor do I plan on lifting it.
Rob was there anything wrong with the Bilstein lift on your last truck? I thought you really liked it. Can you tell me how you had them set--up? Did you put the 5100s in the rear also? The set-up I am interested in has adjustments of BILSTEIN 0-2″ FRONT, 0-1″ REAR LIFT SHOCKS FOR 2016-2023 TOYOTA TACOMA. I have a 2018 TRD Sport long bed. Right now I have ReadyLift 3/2 inch lift with Nitto Ridge Grapplers LT285/70r17 on TRD pro 17" wheels with a +4 offset with front and rear mud flaps and no rubbing at full lock. I want to go down to LT265/70r17 and replace the ReadyLift with the Bilstein's. It says that setting 4 is a 1.55" inch lift and the rear at a 1" inch. It does not recommend the top setting at 2" inches for a 4x2 long bed. My question is do you think the Bilstein set-up will work?
Rob. Just saw this video. Great info. Since the video is about four months old has your wheel/lift changed or are you still running stock suspension with 265/70R16 with the -10 offset and no rubbing. Recently purchased a 23 Tacoma and thinking of going to similar setup
I wanna do a -10 offset on mine, I think it looks great. It's funny, I also have been asked what my lift is as well. I never lifted it at all I also do not have side steps, don't really like the look of them.
6" isn't doing it right unless it's long travel. Each inch of lift will reduce suspension droop by an inch. And there is an equilibrium. At a certain lift height you lose articulation. That lift height is usually around 2". Doing it right means you know that true ground clearance comes from your tire size not your lift. People like you who lift excessively to fit bigger tires need to do more research on IFS suspension geometry. Do it right and go down to 2" and get a cab mount relocation done. And then you'll have amazing off road performance.
I have gone back and forth about lifting my 19 tacoma. I said no i don't need any extra problems that cost money I don't have thanks for the info. I have nice wheels and tires I purchased not long ago I will stay with my stock ride no rubbing no, cutting no, no scrapping. That is a huge no go for me.
