I've seen it done so many times where people use the eraser tool in Photoshop to get rid of pieces of an image that they don't need. While this method works, it's permanent and really causes a lot of grief and headaches if you find out later on that you need some of the image back.
The correct way in Photoshop is to use masks! Or, in other words, HIDE your image. In doing this, you leave your original image/text untouched. You'll be able to make revisions anytime and you'll become a much happier person because of it.
