Are your flex urethane parts color shifting rapidly in the sun? Did your customer request a color match? Do your flex parts have an odor? We have great news! BJB Introduces it’s new ColorFlex line of EZ pigmented urethane elastomers.
For decades, BJB has been the industry go-to for high performance polyurethane elastomers that are easy to use, fast turnaround, and perform reliably in demanding applications. The main caveats to some higher physical property systems is dealing with the natural amber base color of the material and urethane odor. When you tint those systems using light color pigments and/or expose it to the sun, the color shift can be swift and dramatic. Trying to color-match or create bright white parts could also be a big challenge due to the amber base.
The ColorFlex material line answers these limitations with a semi-translucent, neutral white base color that accepts a wide range of BJB’s 6800 series pigments. When exposed to moderate UV Light, the color stability of ColorFlex opens up a whole new dimension of possibilities for you and/or your client. Oh, and one more important feature of BJB’s new ColorFlex; Low Odor!! Yup, we did that too! ColorFlex is also: Mercury Free, Phthalate Free, RoHS/REACH Compliant, Low Odor, and exhibits good Rebound, Abrasion, and Tear Resistance. Currently available in Durometers 50A - 95A with Fast or Medium work times. You asked, we answered!

Hello. The flexible polyurethane. Can it be used to manufacture watch straps? has a long durability?
@bjbenterprises
@bjbenterprises 3 года назад
If you are making prototypes, it might work for that. When you make a watch strap, you need to confirm skin safety from the rubber material. We do not perform any skin safety tests for polyurethane because they are typically not good for long term skin contact.

Any Metallic line to pain urethane rubber?

We do not carry any metallic pigments or paints, if that's what you are asking.

On the website it say this transparent in the video it looks like a foggy white. Would it color match good and would this work to make durable action figures?

Hi Aaron, it is listed as Translucent, which means it's not a solid opaque and some light can pass through the material. In contrast to the majority of amber based flexible urethanes, this system solves a big issue with trying to achieve White or lighter colors that don't color shift darker when exposed to UV light. It also processes easier and faster than our flexible Water Clear products, making it popular with rapid prototyping and production customers. As far as making durable action figures, yes these systems have good rebound (spring) and the physical properties are good for real-world parts. Depending on how much flex you need in the parts, you might consider the higher Durometer versions (80-90A) to get the best tear strength and overall toughness. If you need help choosing a system based on the application, don't hesitate to reach out to our Tech team to make sure you are picking the right material based on speed, Durometer, and properties. Thanks for the question! info@bjbenterprises.com

@@bjbenterprises one more question is this mix by weight or volume or both?
@bjbenterprises
@bjbenterprises 3 года назад
@@aarontezeno2154 most of our systems we list the ratio by weight (ratio by weight is more accurate) unless it is designed for machine dispense where volume becomes important. Having said that, some of the CF-series materials are very close to a 1:2 ratio by volume and may work fine for that, but we always stress to look at the Tech Data Sheet to be sure and ask our Tech Team if a particular system can be run at a volume ratio without issues. If you run a system too far off-ratio by inaccurate measuring or "eyeballing it" you run the risk of lowering physical properties or ending up with a sticky, tacky part. info@bjbenterprises.com

no need to vulcanize?
@bjbenterprises
@bjbenterprises 3 года назад
No, these systems are two-part catalyzed polyurethane systems that cure. They are technically Room Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) material systems.
