How To Stop Guitar Strings Breaking At The Bridge.
In This Guitar Hack I show you how I cured my string breaking problem.
I was regularly breaking strings and they always broke at the saddles. I play various guitars and its the same for most of them. I tried everything even installing new saddles but the problem continued.
I had a brain wave and experimented with this idea and it only works.
It may not be for everyone but I have only broken one electric guitar string in a year.

it's not the saddle itself that causes string breakage, (it could be, but your saddles are brend new ones) its the first hole the strings are passing trough, out the tremolo block. These holes can hace sharp edges, even the new ones. So you just have to push that plastic tube deeper to protect that part of the strings - the part that touches the hole edge, not the saddle itself. Hope it helps.

Thanks for your comment. I break strings on every guitar new or old. It's my bad playing lol. I have tried the SRV plastic sheath idea. This method is the only thing that has worked for me. Thanks and kerp rockin ! :)

SRV used plastic covering from wire ..2 of my strats have string saver saddles .not broken one yet

His tech guy did that but only in the hole if you bend plastic over the saddle the string goes dead. Using this material allows the string to resonate. Do you have a link to those string saver saddles?

Hi Brent! Is this a cooper capilar tube? What is its thickness?

Hello yes it is very thin I will have to check but the d string on a set of 10s just goes through it

I tried but i could not get a good result. The strings have gotten a strange sound like sitar guitar. How can I fix this? I did like you did.

@@faustomfc yes can be a bit fiddly. I now just use old ball ends. Works in the same way. I did a video on this too.

I solved the problem. It was hard a little bit, but I fixed. I took a tube a little smaller in lenght than yours. On the saddle I sanded the top of the tube so the string could be seen from the top. I modeled the bottom half of the tube on the saddle so that the string touched only one point of the tube, exactly on the saddle. This interrupted the sitar guitar sound that I told you and string sounded normal.
