Once I stopped being scared of sulfates in shampoo and started clarifying my hair weekly because I use heavy butter and oils, it changed my whole way of seeing my hair's hydration and moisture levels. I had to learn the difference between the two and use that to my advantage. I now use a hair steamer every wash day to really get my deep conditioner to do its job, and I put on my leave-in conditioner and sit under the dryer for about 15 mins, then cool before I proceed with the rest of my routine. It's worked wonders! I don't have to do anything to my hair again until it's time to wash again and it's still moisturized no matter how long I go between washing. I also use a filter on my shower head to soften my water and remove the excess minerals. I've finally gotten my hair to below my bra strap on my back because it's now hydrated and moisturized properly.

Spring water is high in minerals. It's from nature. Distilled would be better, it's void of minerals.
@CoilyDiaries
@CoilyDiaries 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for pointing this out. I learn from you too. Initially I was just using distilled but decided spring wouldn’t be too bad without putting much thought to it. It seams spring water is indeed naturally hard but it could be soft and or filtered depending on the company. Either way am sticking to distilled. Thanks heaps 🙏🏽🌺

Sis as ALWAYS thank you. I was already using the glycerine as you suggested and that was a game changer but I still felt defeated. I'd spray day and night and still wake up with dry hair. After this video, I sprayed it down, got under the dryer for 30 minutes and then applied the leave in and oil and twisted. Listen, I could feel the difference in my hair immediately !!! I mean IMMEDIATELY!! Thank you!!❤

You are so committed. You reply to every message. Big ups girl. I'll try the heat moisturising routine and finak rinse with still bottlef water. My hair really looks dry and damaged after washing with hard water, I'll definitely invest in bottled water. This natural hair journey is really a trial and error because what works for you might not work for me. I started following you in September, I can see the difference in my hair already. Thank you for your commitment, gives me hope.

keep the hope up sis! yes I reply to every original comment. I get frustrated when I ask questions under other RU-vid videos and no response! if you can get distilled water that would be best as it’s heat or kiss with bottled water.

Ty so much for all your work in keeping our coils on point.. I have noticed a slight change n my 4c hair since you turned me on to humectants.. the funny thing is I've always had them in my arsenal but never knew how to use them till I found ur YT.. they really do make a difference.. as for the hard water , mine is and it still works fine.. The added heat concept is a wonderful idea , I will try it going forward.. Peace and Blessings.. MJD

if you use glycerin, your loose hair could revert. this works best when hair is kept in some kind of protective style or braid. another option would be to use much less glycerin so your braid out can hold

I will surely try this method to retain moisture. Dry hair is no joke. I always use distilled water for my leave in ect. But I wash with normal water. I will use distilled water again with last rinse. Did in the past. I will add my vegetable glycerin to my aloe leave in today.🎉🎉🎉 I made a batch yesterday. I'm glad that you gave us a suggestion for what to put in our spritz bottles, however, I'm not sure what you meant when you said "aloe". Aloe juice? What kind of aloe? Aloe vera plant? I really need you to be specific. Also, when you said "glycerin", I've heard of nitroglycerin which is a highly explosive liquid, but glycerin in and of itself is not a term that I am familiar with. Where can I purchase this? I'm really looking forward to your answer since I heard you say that you read and answer every comment. Thank you in advance.

Thank You for your wonderful videos. I just found you on RU-vid - So I have been selectively binge-watching starting about a year ago. I wear a 6-inch "afro." -On a non-wash day, should I add castor oil essential oil to the Aloe-Gyerine water? Next - spritz my hair and sit under a dryer, then apply the Shea moisture leave-in conditioner. Or would you spritz in a "watered down" Shea moisture? Again, Thanks for the Great Infomation😊
@CoilyDiaries

Welcome aboard! Is this an Afro with your own hair? the essential oils are for the scalp so wouldn’t necessarily add them to what’s going onto the hair. I would apply Shea after sitting under heat

Hi Coily D., Could you advise me on how to work hydration care so that it will be able to be done in combination with the hairstyling method I use or will I have to go to a different hairstyle. The following is how I style my hair after a wash & condition. Apply leave in, Detangle, Apply a hard cast type gel, Then the style and let air dry and harden. Then let it stay this way until next wash day, with resmoothing of occasional fuzzy areas that may show up. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

Two questions. Don't you need to rinse with cool water after to make the cuticles lay down and help seal the hair shaft? Secondly does this method also work for straight natural styles?
@CoilyDiaries
@CoilyDiaries 7 месяцев назад
I want to keep my cuticle open for my glycerin spritz. when I get it in, am ready to close. second question: Does what method work for straight natural styles? do you mean like a blow out and silk press? and do you mean the moisturizing method? works for anyone but glycerin can cause your hair to frizz so straight naturals might struggle.

@@CoilyDiaries yes thank you, that's exactly what I thought. I just had a blow dry and flat iron and now I have lots of shedding and breakage.
